Itinerary

Day 1

Broken Hill to Tibooburra
Meet at 7.45 am for 8.00am (local time) departure Broken Hill Tourist Information Centre, travel along the Silver City Highway partially via a historic backtrack to Tibooburra

Day 2

Tibooburra to Cameron Corner
Through Sturt NP to Cameron

Day 3

Cameron Corner to Innamincka
Via Bollards Lagoon Track and Strezlecki Track

Day 4

Rest Day Innamincka
Visit the famous Digtree, fish in Cooper Creek or go for a drive

Day 5

Innamincka to Birdsville
Via Cordillo Downs and the historic Shearing shed

Day 6

Rest day in Birdsville
Tackle Big Red Australia's largest sand dune or visit some of the other sites, enjoy a drink at the famous pub

Day 7

Birdsville to Mungerannie
Travel on the famous Birdsville Track

Day 8

Mungerannie to Farina Ruins
Great Drive and the Farina Ruins are most interesting

Day 9

Farina Ruins to Andamooka
Great day of driving across to opal country

Day 10

Andamooka to Port Augusta
On the Oodnadatta Track via Roxby Downs

On our Tag Along tours you travel in convoy of no more than 10 vehicles, you travel in the comfort of your own/hire vehicle and enjoy some challenging driving while being escorted and assisted by your personal guides.
You need to carry your own camping gear, sufficient food and drinking water and this helps to keep the tour cost down and allows you to design your own menu and try some camp cooking.
On longer trips we incorporate opportunities to stock up on supplies and do some clothes washing.
Overnight stops are mostly in bushcamps with no or limited facilities, and if there are no facilites, we provide the shower if possible.
We have designed our tours to allow ample time for breaks, walks, photography and rest and relaxation - after all it is your tour.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:

  • It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
  • If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
  • Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
