Itinerary

Day 1

Saigon – Tien Giang – Ben Tre – Can Tho (_/_ /_)

Meet in the lobby of your hotel and drive to My Tho the heart of the Mekong Delta.

Take a boat trip on Mekong River to Phoenix Island where local handicrafts and sweets from coconut are being produced. Enjoy fresh seasonal fruits and traditional music and song performance.
A short ride on a horse carriage to a typical local house to taste some homemade honey-tea. Proceed by small sampan boat through the small canals and side-arms of the river to observe the daily life along the river banks with a stop and short leisurely walk at the Turtle Island. Lunch at a local restaurant (optional) before driving to Can Tho.

Day 2

Can Tho – Saigon (B/_/_)

This morning board your boat for a visit to the fascinating floating market at Cai Rang. See local farmers trading their produce on the water as they have done for centuries and watch the local people producing instant rice noodles (Hu Tiu), making boats and rice-husking. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City with lunch en route (optional). Drop off at your hotel. (Accommodation in Ho Chi Minh City is not included).
