Itinerary

Day 1

Fly overnight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2

Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to The Duxton hotel which is in an excellent location to explore.

Day 3

Whilst in Ho Chi Minh City either a guided morning city tour or a half day trip to the Cu Chi tunnels is included.

Day 4

On the third day a full day trip to the Mekong Delta is included.

Day 5

You will be transferred to the airport for a short flight up to Danang and then a short drive to the fabulous town of Hoi An.

Day 6

Accommodation is at the Hoi An Riverside where you can relax in pleasant surroundings, hit the beach or head into town to see the sights and do some shopping.

Day 7

Hoi An is famous for its numerous tailors who will copy or design any clothes you wish, the prices are fantastic and the range of silks and other materials is endless.

Day 8

A day of relaxing on the beach and trying out the great food.

Day 9

A 3 hour scenic drive to Hue where you stay at the beautiful Pilgrimage Village.

Day 10

Whilst in Hue you can visit the historic Imperial City, can hire bikes, take a cyclo ride (rickshaw.

Day 11

Enjoy a pleasant boat ride on the serene Perfume River.

Day 12

From Hue you fly to Hanoi and stay at the Quoc Hoa in the heart of the city.

Day 13

You are a short walk away from the old city and the Hoan Kiem Lake, a beautiful place to watch the sunset. During your time in Hanoi we include an overnight trip to Halong bay where you will cruise the spectacular bay and stay overnight on a traditional junk boat.

Day 14

There are several museums, shops and excellent eateries along Hanoi’s tree lined boulevards and it’s a great city to spend a few days.

Day 15

Your last day in Vietnam take time to relax before your journey back or head out to the local markets to do some last minute shopping.

Day 16

Flight back.

This classic 16 day itinerary is designed for first time visitors to Vietnam. The trip begins in bustling Ho Chi Minh City, takes in the world heritage sites of Hoi An and Hue on the central coast and finishes in Hanoi. The itinerary incorporates visits to the famous Mekong Delta in the south and an overnight trip to spectacular Halong Bay in the north. For those with less time this itinerary can be reduced to 14 days by taking a day trip to Halong Bay instead of staying overnight. For those with a few extra days to spare it can be extended to take in a trip into the mountains and to the beautiful town of Sapa.
