ITINERARY
Hustai National Park
Located 95 km (59 miles) west of Ulan Bator, the Hustai National Park has an area of 50,600 hectares. The park has a unique landscape that features mountain steppe and steppe as well as sand dunes representing desert of Mongolia and river wetlands.
The one and only species of wild horse, the Tahi among the Mongols, or known as the Przewalski’s horse to the world, is being successfully reintroduced to their homeland after more than 40 years of extinction in Mongolia. The Mongolian Association for Conservation of Nature and the Environment (MACNE), with the assistance of the Foundation Reserves Przewalski’s Horses (FRPH) has brought a total number of 84 Tahi to Mongolia the Hustai National Park over the past decade. Presently, the number of Tahi has already reached more than 170 as of November 2005.
