Itinerary

Day 1

A RIVER CRUISE to observe the "Big Nose" Proboscis Monkey and also the "David Beckham" Monkeys, Macaque, Kingfishers, Hornbills, monitor Lizard, Crocodiles, also to watch the Water Buffaloes crossing the river as well as to witness the sunset on your way back to jetty!


At evening, you can look at miracles where hundreds of fireflies lighting up the foliage like Christmas trees!!!


1330hrs Depart from Kota Kinabalu to Beaufort road journey takes approximately 2 hours
1530hrs Arrive at Beaufort Wetland some few kilometers away from the busy highway. a lodge that surrounded by mangrove swaps forest filled with their own distinctive business and beauty
1600hrs On board a comfortable fiberglass boat for 1-1/2 hours river cruise in this red river (effect of tree's tanine) with lush greenery of the mangrove trees that made possible for Proboscis Monkey to be spotted most of the time in the trees feeding on young leaves, shoots, sour fruits and seeds. In addition, on will have the opportunity to observe the other type or primate the Long-Tailed Macaque, the rare Silver languor, local water buffalo crossing the river and variety of birds. one may also witness sunset while cruising back to the river lodge.
1800hrs Upon arriving at the lodge, sumptuous BBQ dinner is being served in buffet line after the river cruising
1830hrs After dinner, a short walk to the swap area to catch the glimpse of fireflies decorating the mangroves trees like a Christmas tree. Then, depart for Kota Kinabalu after 10-15 minutes of firefly watching.
2100hrs Estimated time of arrival in Kota Kinabalu. End of tour.
