Itinerary

Day 1

Arduous and strenuous climb to the Merapi summit mostly started from Kaliurang. Said as one of the hardest route for experienced mount climbers. Experience and adventure spirit reatrace the hikers' track ever made here by walking up and down the hills or valleys. Through Merapi rain forest, watch one or two rare bird species flying over the pines branch.
Stop for a while at the mount care taker's village, Bebeng. Relax by the side of cold, dry lava river, watch local hard workers pilling and huling up and down buckets of sand from the river bed to sell. Next, challenge yourself by trekking down the deep ravine nearby. Feel a distinctive atmosphere and tranquility here. Find also a man-made cave used by the Japanese in the waning years of the second world war.
