| Day 1 - Flight to India (New Delhi)
Around midnight arrival in New Delhi. The cosmopolitan city and capital New Delhi is the main gateway for the travellers to India. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel. |
| Day 2 - New Delhi
This morning is at leisure. In the afternoon sightseeing of Old Delhi. Sightseeing of Old Delhi includes "Rajghat" and "Jama Masjid", the great mosque of Old Delhi. Today we also visit the famous "Humayun Tomb" which is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India. We will also visit "Qutub Minar" which is 71 meter high and consists of five stories. In 1199 work began on this tower, which was intended to be the most glorious tower of victory in the world. Before we proceed to the hotel we will drive through New Delhi where we will visit the India Gate, Government Buildings and Embassies. |
| Day 3 - New Delhi - Leh (by air)
In the morning we will drive to airport to board flight to Leh. An hour's spectacular flight over the Greater Himalayas, with views stretching as far as K2 in the west and the entire Zanskar range and views of Tibet beneath. You are met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to your hotel. In the evening we will visit Sankar Monastery, which is situated in the Indus valley. |
| Day 4 - Leh - Spituk
In the morning after breakfast we will visit the famous Hemis Monastery, which has some of the most precious Tankhas, silver Stupas and enshrines statues of various Buddhist gods and goddesses. We will also visit Thiksey Monastery. This imposing monastery, situated on a hill overlooking the village has a huge statue of Shakayamuni Buddha. We will also visit Shey Palace, which was earlier the Royal Palace. We will drive to Spituk. In Spituk we have an overnight stay. |
| Day 5 - Spituk - Leh
In the morning after breakfast we will visit Spituk Monastery overlooking the whole Indus valley. Later we will drive to Leh. Evening free to explore the local market. |
| Day 6 - Leh - Kargil
In the morning after breakfast we drive from Leh to Kargil through a spectacular moonscape. We drive over the Fotu La (14,000 ft), a high mountain pass, exiting the Indus valley and entering the Suru valley. Enroute, we visit the Lamayuru monastery, known to be one of the oldest monasteries amongst the 'Red Hat' sect. We will spend night in Kargil. |
| Day 7 - Kargil - Rangdum
In the morning after breakfast we have a spectacular drive past Panikar and Parkachik with magnificent views of the Nun and Kun massifs (7000 m) hanging glaciers and large meadows. We drive till Rangdum Gompa. |
| Day 8 - Rangdum - Remala
In the morning after breakfast we drive to Remala, which is the starting point for the rafting trip on the Doda River, a tributary of the Zanskar River. We drive over the Pensi La (14,500 ft), which enables grand views of the Zanskar peaks at the bottom of which is the Drung Durung glacier that feeds the Zanskar River. |
| Day 9 - Remala - Karsha Gompa
In the morning after breakfast we will begin our rafting expedition at Remala. We will have a brief introduction on river rafting and safety precautions. Then we will we raft to Karsha Gompa. When we will raft 6000 metre high peaks will surround us. |
| Day 10 - Karsha Gompa - Pidmu (about 30 km)
After an early morning start, we raft from Karsha Gompa to Pidmu. This stretch is approximately 30 km full of various rapids. In the evening we will visit the nearby villages of Pidmu and Hanomil. |
| Day 11 - Pidmu - Nyerak (about 20 km)
In the morning after having our breakfast we raft 20 km to Nyerak. The gorge narrows in on the river - this indeed is a grand canyon in its own right. We stop for the day in a gorge below Nyerak village. |
| Day 12 - Nyerak - Lamaguru (about 35 km)
Today's 35 km rafting section takes us from Nyerak to Lamaguru, through the core of the Zanskar River. Rock formations, spires and an amazing palette of colours will add to the trip. We will spend night at Lamaguru. |
| Day 13 - Lamaguru - Nimu (about 40 km)
In the morning after having our breakfast we raft for approx. 40 kms from Lamaguru to Nimu. Nimu lies at the confluence of the Zanskar River and the Indus River. |
| Day 14 - Nimu - Alchi (about 25 km)
After having our breakfast we raft from Nimu to finish the trip at Alchi (approx. 25 km). After ending the trip at Alchi, we will visit the monastery to view the beautiful frescoes and woodcarvings. |
| Day 15 - Alchi - Leh
This morning free for leisure. Later we will drive to Leh. Evening free to explore the local market. |
| Day 16 - Leh - New Delhi (by air)
In the morning after breakfast transfer to airport to board flight for New Delhi. Evening free at leisure. After having dinner we leave the hotel for the airport. |

Around midnight flight to home destination. |
