ITINERARY
Day 1 - Flight to India (New Delhi) Around midnight arrival in New Delhi. The cosmopolitan city and capital New Delhi is the main gateway for the travellers to India. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacations representative and transferred to the hotel.
Day 2 - New Delhi The day is at leisure either to have sightseeing in Delhi or for relaxation.
Day 3 - New Delhi - Deoprayag In the morning we will drive to Deoprayag. We will be able to feel the bracing mountain air as we ascend the mighty Himalayas over a winding road to Devprayag. Deoprayag lies at the confluence of the Alakananda and Bhagirathi rivers which merge here to form the holy river Ganges. These are the two major tributaries fed by the vast snowfields high above making it a river-runner's paradise. After Devprayag the river widens out and is relatively calm. We will splash down into the River Ganges in inflatable rafts with expert river guide to experience the thrill of negotiating the rapids.
Day 4 - Deoprayag - Kaudiyala In the morning after breakfast drive to Kaudiyala. Amidst the dense forest cover, Kaudiyala is located on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway, at an altitude of 480 mts. Here the mighty waters of the Ganga, are ideal for white water rafting. There is also ample opportunity to view wildlife in its natural habitat. Nature walks along the river are a real treat, as one can see majestic wildlife. Various river rafting courses are conducted at Kaudiyala. Upon arrival in Kaudiyala we will have a brief seminar on safety precautions, equipment, camping, river rafting and other details about rafting.
Day 5 - Kaudiyala - Shivpuri In the morning after breakfast we will raft to Shivpuri. The run from Kaudiyala to Shivpuri on the Alakananda takes 5-6 hrs of rafting is a fairly demanding one and passes through thickly wooded hills, past riverside temples and two of the river's best rapids which are succeeded by deep, tranquil pools. There are several camping sites in between the stretch. The run finishes at the Shivpuri.
Day 6 - Shivpuri - New Delhi In the morning after having our breakfast we will drive to New Delhi. Evening free for leisure. Rooms are available to get fresh and change before we depart for the airport with Indo Vacations representative.
Day 7 - New Delhi Around midnight flight to home destination.
