Day 1

Arrival in Beijing When you arrive in China your will probably be rather tired from your journey,and this hectic city can be a bit of a culture shock!For these reasons, we suggest that you give yourselves a break by booking a Beijing Starter Pack. This includes an airport transfer and two nights in a comfortable, central hotel. In other words, a starter pack will ensure that you have a no-hassle arrival.
You'll be collected from arrivals and taken to your hotel in the city centre. The rest of your day in China is free to fill in as you wish, so sleep off the jetlag or grab a map and start exploring!

Day 2

City Tour with GuideIn the morning a car with chauffeur and English-speaking guide will pick you up and show you round this fascinating city. First stop is Tian'anmen Square; the largest urban square in the World, the heart of China and background to many historic events. You'll also visit the pretty Temple of Heavenly Peace, and the Lama Temple of the Tibetan Lama Buddhism. After a break for lunch (dont worry your guide will help you to decipher the menus!)you’ll visit the Forbidden City, the secluded home of Chinese emperors for many centuries. This is your last stop of the day and you will wave goodbye to your guide an be taken back to your hotel.

Day 3

Great Wall TrekAsk China travellers why they are travelling to China and most will say one reason is to be able to stand on the Great Wall of China. You’ll be picked up from your accommodation early in the morning and then you’ll drive north for three hours to Jinshanling; a quiet part of the Great Wall of China, with beautiful views. This is where your 10km walk to Simatai will begin. Large portions of the wall have not been restored, so caution is advised at all times. If you don’t feel like finishing the 10km walk, ask for a short cut and you won’t walk on the wall any longer. You’ll fly down the last kilometre while hanging on a cable above a lake. A mini bus will be waiting for you on the other side of the lake, but first you can have some dinner (not included in the price of the trip). You’ll be back in Beijing around 19:00.



If the hike sounds a bit too strenuous for you, or you have a fear of heights, then we will arrange a visit to the Great Wall of China for you at Mutianyu. This area is more touristy, however the wall is easier to walk on here (there is also a gondola available) and just as beautiful.

Day 4

Departure from ChengduEnd of After three nights in Beijing, most travellers take the night train to the city of the Terracotta Army; however you can also fly there.



If you do decide to take the train, you’ll have the rest of the day to spend in Beijing. We really enjoyed being able to explore the city so easily on our last day here. Either go on foot, by Chinese bicycle or seated in a rickshaw to visit the historic hutong neighborhoods.
