Itinerary

Day 1

{bold}BEIJING COOKING CLASS: WINE PAIRING COOKING DEMO{-bold}Hias Gourmet takes you behind closed doors to the intimate private kitchen of Jen Lin-Liu, Chinese-American food writer and author of Serve the People, A Stir-Fried Journey Through China.


We let you sample the variety and sophistication of Chinese cuisine as we explore tasty Sichuan, Cantonese, and Northern-style recipes. Our session progresses from lecture to chef's demonstration to individual hands-on execution of recipes featuring essential Chinese cooking techniques.

The cooking class is held in a restored courtyard home, located in the central Beijing's ancient hutong neighbourhood (see picture above)



{bold}The Instructors {-bold}
Each class features rotating instructors, from specialist dim sum chefs to the Chairman of a local culinary institute. The cooking class session progresses from lecture to chef's demonstration to individual hands-on execution of the day's menu.
