Itinerary

Day 1

Zanzibar is most famous for being the “ Spice Island” of the Indian Ocean. Therefore it is not surprising that Zanzibar's cuisine offers an exotic variety of tastes and aromas. Located just a few degrees South of the equator, blessed with very fertile land, and surrounded by azure blue seas overwhelmingly rich in fish, Zanzibar could develop a unique cuisine which reflects the rich history of the archipelago: For centuries the sailing dhows of the traders arrived with the monsoon, connecting Zanzibar with Arabia, Persia, India and the African continent. Today, Arabian coffee, Indian curries, Masalas from Goa and exotic fruits and vegetables such as manioc, cashew nut, avocados, guava and coconut are common ingredients of Zanzibar's cuisine.
