This safari is a road safari which takes you to the Kingdom of animals, Maasai Mara and the birds' paradise, Lake Nakuru National Park and the adventurous Aberdare National Parks. You will also sample a taste of Tanzania's best and wildlife filled national park, the Serengeti.
Itinerary
Day 1
Nairobi
Pick up on arrival by our tour manager and get a safari briefing while being transferred to a Nairobi hotel for your overnight stay or transfer directly to Maasai Mara National Park.
Overnight at Meridian Court Hotel or similar.
Day 2
Nairobi - Maasai Mara
After breakfast, embark on your trip to the Maasai Mara National Game Reserve, stopping at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley, arriving in time for lunch, thereafter proceed for a late afternoon game viewing drive till dusk in the park, which is essentially the northern extension of Tanzania's Serengeti National Reserve as an artificial border only separates the two.
The Maasai Mara, now The New 7th wonder of the world and 4th preferred tourist destination in the world is a home to wildlife in such abundance and variety that it is difficult to imagine. The most spectacular event of the natural world takes place here; The annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture while being followed on their heels by the predators of the savanna; lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures.
It hosts over 450 species of animals which include lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephants.

Day 3
Maasai Mara
Spend the whole day with morning and evening game drives or opt to embark on a visit to the Maasai people and learn more about their culture and way of life.

Day 4
Mara / Mt Kenya
Early morning, pre breakfast game viewing drive. Return to the lodge for breakfast.

Take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a Hot air Balloon provided at extra cost. The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild! If you can spare the money, viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience.
After breakfast depart for Mt Kenya National Park with lunch enroute in Nanyuki town. You will arrive in the early afternoon, if time allows, you will be taken for an afternoon game viewing drive till dusk.

Day 5
Mt Kenya
Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives as well as guided nature walks in this beautiful natural attraction. Engage in activities like mountain climbing and a wide range of attractions ranging from pristine wilderness, lakes, tarns, glaciers and peaks of great beauty.
Mt Kenya National Park, was inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1997 and is also a Biosphere Reserve, covers 715 km2, and includes the Peaks consisting of all the ground above 3200m with two small salients extending lower down to 2450m along the Sirimon and Naro Moru tracks. Surrounding the park is Mount Kenya National Reserve with an area of approximately 2095 km2.

Day 6
Mt Kenya / Lake Nakuru
After breakfast proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park, which has a fantastic array of bird life including flamingos, white pelicans and the marabou stork, all water birds, that breed in the lake's alkaline waters. You may spot white rhino and the rate Rothschild's giraffe that has five horns instead of the usual three and clear instead of spotted shanks (legs). Additional attraction
A sea of flaming pink as far as the eye can see. These are the millions of flamingoes seeking for their food in the salty deep green waters of Lake Nakuru. The protected area is primarily for birds of which 400 to 500 species can be found here including cormorants and pelicans. However visitors to be Lake Nakuru may also catch a glimpse of Thomson gazelles, impala, waterbucks, giraffes, buffaloes or even black rhino and leopards.

Day 7
Lake Nakuru
Spend the better part of the morning game viewing and the afternoon can be spend at leisure enjoying a picnic lunch or a bush dinner in the evening.

Day 8
Lake Nakuru / Aberdares
After early breakfast depart for Nyeri which is the location of the Aberdares National Park and pass through Naivasha where the beautiful bird filled lake can be seen. Mount Longonot is also visible along the way.

Day 9
Aberdares
Today you will enjoy activities like walks in the moorlands, visiting the Thompson's Waterfall, game viewing as well as night viewing of spectacular wildlife which include black rhinos among other species.
The National Park lies mainly above the tree line running along the 10,000ft contour with some forest and scrub at lower altitude in the 'salient' area near Nyeri with the boundary running down to the 7000ft contour
The unusual vegetation, rugged terrain, streams and waterfalls combine to create an area of great scenic beauty in the National Park. The park is surrounded by a predominantly indigenous forest, whose management is under an MoU between KWS and the Forest Department.

Day 10
Aberdares / Nairobi
After breakfast depart for Nairobi with a final game drive enroute arriving in the afternoon. After a late lunch transfer to a Nairobi hotel for overnight stay and relaxation.

Day 11
Nairobi / Amboseli
After breakfast depart for Amboseli National Park for your adventurous fun filled wildlife expedition until the 25th of January. Enjoy game viewing activities in the mornings and afternoon as well as bush dinners and picnic lunches during your visit.
Amboseli is justly famous both for its big game and for its great scenic beauty. The glistening, majestic snow-cap of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain (19,340') dominates the landscape. The National Park is 1,249 sq. miles of open plains, extensive stands of yellow-barked Acacia woodland, rocky lava-strewn thorn country,
swamps and marshes. This region is undoubtedly a photographer's paradise and one of the best places to view and observe elephant.

Day 12
Amboseli / Serengeti
Depart in the morning after breakfast for the Serengeti National Park and check in at the Serengeti Sopa Lodge for your Tanzania part of the safari. While in the park engage in morning game and afternoon game drives as well as learning about the cultures of the Maasai people in northern Tanzania.
Also take the opportunity to enjoy a balloon safari over the enormous park at an extra cost. The safari is coupled with a champagne breakfast so if you can spare some time sample this wonderful beauty of wildlife while in the air.
The Serengeti national park is a continuation of the Maasai Mara game reserve in Kenya. It is one of Tanzanian's largest and most famous national parks covering an area of 14,763sq.km the greatest spectacle of annual wildlife migration in the world happens in the two adjoining parks as about a million Wildebeest cross north and south looking for greener pasture. The Serengeti also boasts of its lions and Cheetahs whereas zebras number about 200,000 other animals include giraffes grant and Thomson's gazelle Impalas, elands, warthogs and klipspringers. It is also rich with bird life.

Day 13
2nd Jan 2009: Serengeti / Nairobi
After breakfast depart back to Nairobi and transfer to the airport for your connecting flight to your next destination or transfer to a hotel for overnight stay depending on your flight schedule.
