| Day 1 - MOMBASA � TAVETA - MOSHI
Early departure from our hotel. Proceed to the Taveta border crossing into Tanzania with views of Tsavo West en-route. After immigration formalities at the border, we continue on to Moshi. Lunch in Moshi town. The afternoon will be spent sorting out climbing gear and meeting our guide for briefing.
Dinner at a modest hotel on bed and breakfast basis.
| | Day 2 - MOSHI - MANDARA
An early breakfast at Moshi. We drive the 45 kms to the Marangu gate, which is at 1,860m. We trek to the Mandara hut, 2,744m through dense semi-tropical rain forest. Meals and overnight at the hut.
| | Day 3 - MANDARA � HOROMBO HUT
It will be an early start for the approximately 10-hours ascend towards Horombo. The landscape becomes more rugged and rocky but with superb views of both Mawenzi & Kibo peaks in view. We spend our 2nd night at Horombo at an altitude of 3,716m.
| | Day 4 - HOROMBO � KIBO HUT
The ascent is stiff. The 13 kms, 6-hours walk takes us to Kibo hut at 4,732m above sea level. Unique mountain vegetation like cactus, groundswell and Lobelia appears. Overnight at Kibo hut.
| | Day 5 - KIBO � UHURU PEAK - HOROMBO
The final attempt at the summit is made in the early hours of the morning at 0200hrs. It will take about 5 hours to climb the steepest and most difficult route to Gilman�s point at 5,681m. From Gilman�s, it takes us about 2 hours to Uhuru peak standing at 5,681m. After celebrations, we will descend to Horombo for dinner and overnight.
| | Day 6 - HOROMBO � MOSHI - MOMBASA
Descend is rapid now. We will be at Marangu by mid-morning. After breakfast, we drive to Moshi for lunch. We later proceed to Mombasa via the Taveta border town to arrive Mombasa in the evening. Drop off at our respective hotels.

Kilimanjaro National Park is located near Moshi, Tanzania and is approximately 1,665 sq. km (643 sq mi). It is centered on Mount Kilimanjaro, and covers an area of 753 km�. In the 1910s, Mount Kilimanjaro and its forests was declared a game reserve by the German colonial government. Mt. Kilimanjaro, standing at 5,895 metres (19,340 ft), can be climbed all year round although the best months are January to March, July through to October. During the rainy season, visibility is poor and climbing conditions difficult. You have to be in good physical condition to attempt a climb on this mountain.
