Itinerary

Day 1

Pick up from your hostel or Johannesburg Airport and travel in an airconditioned vehicle via Dullstroom or Nelspruit to Tremisana Game Lodge in the Balule section of Kruger Park. After a short break ( swim/ early Sundowner at the bar ) you board the open Landcruiser for a Big Five sunset drive. After dark, your guide will use a powerful spotlight to locate nocturnal animals. After the game drive, you will be transferred to Marc's Treehouse Lodge, where you are accommodated in fascinating treehouses. Dinner in the Boma around a crackling fire will be a typical South African meal.

Day 2

You will be transferred to the Orpen Gate of Kruger where you enjoy the open Gameviewer that provides unbeatable opportunities for a total sensual wildlife experience. These 4 x 4 vehicles easily access all roads in Kruger. Your experienced guide will show you many animals and birds that frequent this wildlife paradise. Dinner and overnight at Marc's Treehouse Lodge.

Day 3

Early morning game walk accompanied by your armed ranger. You will attempt to get close to the numerous animals that have made their home at Marc's, especially nyala and buffalo. After breakfast, you drive via the Blyde River Canyon on your return to Johannesburg where you arrive in the late afternoon. Airport dropoff by arrangement.

Day 4

An additional day spent in Kruger on the open vehicle

TRANSFERS to and from Gauteng to our accommodation establishments are in airconditioned Toyota Quantums or Condors. We offer you excellent security as we conduct door-to-door collection from your homes, hotels, hostels or Oliver Tambo Airport, thus ensuring your safety. Lunchstops are made at Dullstroom or Nelspruit.

THE SUNSET DRIVE affords you your first opportunity of seeing Africa's animals. Our qualified guide will take you on our open 4 x 4 Landcruiser into the Big Five Balule Game Reserve. Stops will be made to photograph the stunning sunsets and to listen to the night sounds. Spotlights are used to locate elusive nocturnal animals.

SAFARIS IN KRUGER are conducted on eight-seater or nine-seater open gameviewing vehicles based at Orpen Gate. The open gameviewers offer elevated vantage positions from where your gameviewing and photographic opportunities are greatly enhanced. All our gameviewing vehicles are 4 x 4 conversions with access to all roads in all weather conditions.

WHAT TO BRING : Casual neutral coloured clothing for the day and a warm jacket for the sunset drive. Swimming gear, closed walking shoes, sunglasses and sunhat. Sunscreen and insect repellant. Binoculars, photographic equipment and a flashlight. Cash for lunches, t-shirts, souvenirs and personal expenses. A keen pair of eyes to help your guide spot all the animals !
