Follow the sun in search for the rare Desert Lion and vast open space.
Itinerary
Day 1
Depart early from OR Tambo International to Kuruman. Follow the sun to our destination. Relax late afternoon around the pool and enjoy a braai at Livingstone Lodge.
Day 2
Visit the Eye of Kuruman. It's the largest natural fountain in the Southern hemisphere. It delivers 20 million liters of crystal clear water daily. Moffat Mission, where the first white settler set up a mission in 1820. Travel via Kathu to Upington, visiting Kathu Information office, an experience on its own. Arrive at Upinton Protea Hotel late afternoon.
Day 3
Travel north to Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, the biggest tourist attraction in the Northern Cape and at 3.7 million hectares, the world's largest conservation area. We search the rare desert Lion and spend the night around the fire for a braai.
Day 4
Early morning game drive, and lazy mid morning in camp for relaxation after all the traveling.
Day 5
Early morning game drive. After breakfast we depart for Augrabies Falls National Park. The name was derived from the Khoi word meaning "place of great noise". The river plummets 56m into a ravine below. We spend the night at Augrabies Falls.
Day 6
Early morning game drive. After breakfast it is your last chance to visit the magnificent falls before we depart back to Upington. On route we visit the Orange River wine cellars as well as the pink stall. Arrive late at Upington Protea Hotel and spend the night.
Day 7
Depart early to Kimberly, the City that sparkles. Visit the Big Hole and the Kimberly Mine Museum. Take a trip down memory lane or for people with an appetite for history, old buildings, a good ghost story, thrilling fun and an alternative kind of night time entertainment, people with only a gentle interest in the supernatural then the Kimberley Ghost Trail is for you. It starts around 18:00 and ends before the clock announces the bewitching hour.
Spend night at Protea Hotel Diamond Lodge.
Day 8
Depart after breakfast for OR Tambo International and arrive late afternoon.

- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
