Itinerary

Day 1

We leave the City for the historic town of Paarl to visit the Afrikaans Language Monument with its superb view of the wine lands where you will learn of the origins of the original pioneers of wine making going back to the 17th Century. After this interesting introduction we then visit a number of wine estates for tastings of their produce and enjoy the scenic beauty of the valleys and mountains where these estates are situated. Many estates still have their original homesteads in the unique style of architecture called Cape Dutch which will leave a memorable impression on the visitor. Lunch if possible will be at the delightful restuarant on the slopes of the Franschhoek Mountains with outstanding views and superb food. After lunch a visit to another estate and a drive/walk through the 17th Century town of Stellenbosch before setting off for Cape Town
