Itinerary

Day 1

Day 1: Arrive Nairobi
Arrive in Nairobi early this morning. transfer to extraordinary Giraffe Manor, in the suburbs of Nairobi. Situated on 120 acres, the manor was bought by Jock and Betty Leslie-Melville in 1974. Betty, who founded the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife, moved 5 babies of the endangered Rothschild Giraffe to the manor and successfully raised them. Today, offspring of those babies roam the grounds, peeking into windows to join you for tea and biscuits. Spend the afternoon walking through the adjacent forest, or visit the Giraffe Centre next door and learn more about the exciting work to protect the Rothschild Giraffe. Each room in the manor is individually decorated, including one room, which is completely furnished by pieces given to Betty by Karen von Blixen before she left Africa.

Day 2

Day 2: Nairobi / Mt. Kenya
Transfer to Wilson Airport for the flight to Nanyuki Air strip at the foot of Mt. Kenya. William Holden and friends turned the Mt. Kenya Safari Club into perhaps the most famous club in the world. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure. Tonight, a highlight as you head into nearby Sweet waters Private Reserve for a night game drive– possible only because the reserve is on private property.

Day 3

Day 3: Mt. Kenya
Today, is a day of leisure to enjoy the club’s activities. Or optional, add a full day excursion to Samburu National Park, including lunch and game viewing at Samburu Serena lodge located at the Park, later return to Mt Kenya. Dinnerand overnight at the Mt. Kenya Safari Club.

Day 4

Day 4: Mt. Kenya / Lewa Downs
Just 1 hour away from Mt. Kenya lays the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Lewa Downs, located within the conservancy, is one of Kenya’s original ranches and has been the Craig Family home since 1921. Arrive at the home in time to enjoy lunch with the family. Then, choose your activity this afternoon from horseback riding, bush walks, tennis or just relaxing poolside.

Day 5

Day 5: Lewa Downs
A full day at the ranch gives you time to relax and enjoy the intimate atmosphere of the grounds. Your en-suite cottage includes a common living room with fireplace and a veranda – perfect for reading a book or napping during the heat of the day. Enjoy dinner hosted by the Craig family tonight, followed by a game drive.

Day 6

Day 6: Lewa Downs / Laipikia Plateau (Ol Malo)
A private light aircraft flight takes you to Laipikia and the hidden treasure of Ol Malo. Set on an escarpment overlooking the Laipikia Plateau, Ol Malo provides visitors with an intimate safari experience, reminiscent of Hemingway’s Africa. Your hosts, Colin and Rocky Francombe will show you the unspoilt Africa here in Kenya’s northern region, while pampering you in luxurious surroundings.

Day 7

Day 7: Ol Malo
Choose from a variety of game-viewing options today. You might enjoy a traditional game drive. Or, why not try game viewing on horseback? Take time while at the lodge to enjoy the beautiful surrounding vistas.

Day 8

Day 8: Ol Malo / Masai Mara
A private light aircraft flight takes you back to Nanyuki where you join the schedule flight to the Masai Mara. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your luxury tented camp. This afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the Reserve.

Day 9

Day 9: Masai Mara
As Kenya’s most famous Reserve, the Masai Mara is host to a variety of wildlife, including the Big Cats and prolific bird life. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives.

Day 10: Masai Mara
After today’s morning and afternoon game drives, your game list should be complete!

Day 11

Day 11: Masai Mara / Nairobi
Return to Nairobi by scheduled light aircraft flight.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud

  • Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
