Day 1

Nairobi- Maasai Mara;

On this day, you will be met by our tour manager who will brief you on your safari before handing you over to your tour guide and your chef and thereafter drive south through the Great Rift Valley and into the world famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Lunch at the tented camp followed by an afternoon game drive in this spectacular wildlife theatre.

All meals and overnight at the Mara Big time tented camp.
 

Day 2

Maasai Mara

Early morning pre breakfast game viewing drive and return to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast enjoy the sunrise over the open grassland which signals the start of a full day on the game-filled plains; photograph the stately black maned Lion, Cheetah, or Leopard, stocking defenseless herds of Wildebeest and other herbivores.
In the late afternoon (at an extra cost), go for optional activities like having a nature walk, visiting Maasai villages to see the nomadic lifestyle or swimming in the nearby lodges.

Day 3

Maasai Mara

Early morning pre breakfast game viewing drive and return to the camp for breakfast. The Masai Mara, the New 7th Wonder of the world is famous for it's black maned lions, elephants and buffalo that make three out of the 'big five' though luck is essential for spotting the other two namely park's animal concentration and abundance is second to none. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool where with luck you may spot crocodiles basking on the rocks. Numerous plains game including antelopes, wildebeest, zebra, and Maasai giraffe can be seen as well as scavengers like hyena and vulture.

Take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a Hot air Balloon provided at an extra cost. The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild! If you can spare the money, viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience.

Day 4

Maasai Mara – Nairobi - Amboseli

Early morning pre breakfast game viewing drive, return to the lodge for breakfast, and thereafter depart the Reserve for Amboseli National park through Nairobi with lunch being served at a city Restaurant, arriving at Amboseli in the late afternoon. You will check in at your camp and then proceed for an evening game viewing drive till dusk.

Amboseli National Park sits on the lower slopes of mighty Mount Kilimanjaro Africa's highest mountain whose peak lies across the boarder in Tanzania. It is quite an experience to see Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in an early morning. The animal pictures arising against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain will thrill the photography enthusiast. Amboseli national park is renowned for its huge elephant herds. You will also see buffalo, black rhino's zebras, wildebeest and other plain animals.

Day 5

Amboseli National Park

Pre breakfast game viewing drive and then return to the camp for breakfast. After breakfast, proceed for more game viewing till lunch time. After lunch, proceed for an afternoon game viewing drive till dusk.

Amboseli is famous for its huge elephant herds. Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro sits in the upper slopes of Amboseli national park. Mt Kilimanjaro snow white peaks les across the border of Tanzania. Seeing Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in the early hours of the morning is quite an experience. For an enthusiastic photographer, animal pictures arising against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain is quite a thrill. Apart from the elephants, buffalos, black /rhino and other plain animals are in plenty.
The combination of scenery, people and animals is what makes the park fascinating. Beautifully situated at the foot of the towering Kilimanjaro, it is the home of the brightly painted Maasai tribe. You may be able to see lions, cheetahs, spotted hyena and wild dogs. Also the Kaffir Buffaloes, Burch ells zebras and the herds of elephants. All this animals come to drink water at the water holes consisting of small lakes or muddy bonds kept filled up by the melting snows of Kilimanjaro.

Day 6

Amboseli – Arusha - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, you will be driven to Namanga border for border crossing where you will transfer into a shuttle bus to Arusha in Tanzania, arriving in time for lunch at Impala Hotel. After lunch, proceed to Ngorongoro Conservancy area arriving in the afternoon ready for check in at Crater Lodge / Wildlife lodge located on the crater rim. After lunch visit an authentic Maasai village (the enkang) in Ngorongoro area.

Ngorongoro crater supports up to 25,000 large mammals. Grazers dominate, for example, the zebras, wildebeest (accounting for almost half the animals), gazelles, buffaloes, elands, hartebeests and wart hogs. There are examples of some grazers and browsers that they find this environment not suitable such as Giraffes, for example, they stay away because there is insufficient food at tree level; topi because they compete directly with wildebeest. Another interesting characteristic of this conservancy is that almost all of the populations of crater elephants are bulls. Breeding herds - comprising large numbers of females and their young with a few attendant older males - are probably unable to find sufficient quality food in the crater. Ngorongoro has carnivores in quantity, drawn by the large herds of prey. It has probably the densest population of large predators, mainly lions about 100 and more and 400 spotted hyenas, living in eight clans of up to eighty individuals. Both lions and hyenas will scavenge from each other, depending on weight of numbers and lack of enough food

Dinner & overnight stay at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge / Wildlife Lodge  or a Tented Camp.

Day 7

Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti After breakfast,carry  a picnic lunch and depart for a half day tour of the Floor of Ngorongoro Crater due to Ecosystem conservancy rules. After your tour and picnic lunch, depart for Serengeti National Park stopping en route at Olduvai Gorge. After a visit of Olduvai Gorge continue driving north game viewing en route to your camp / Lodge situated in the Nyarboro Hills in the south west of the Serengeti National Park.

The Olduvai Gorge is the site of Dr. and Mrs. Leakey's discovery of Zinjanthropus bosei.  The Gorge was discovered accidentally by a German butterfly collector, Professor Kattwinkle, in 1911, but it was not until 1959 that Dr. Mary Leakey unearthed the Zinjanthropus skull believed to be 1.8 million years old.

Day 8

Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, with a picnic lunch enjoy the magnificent views across the Serengeti plains and explore the area in your vehicle while driving south, arrive in time for lunch at Ndutu lodge.

The Serengeti National Park is a continuation of the Maasai Mara game reserve in Kenya. It is one of Tanzanian's largest and most famous national parks covering an area of 14,763sq.km the greatest spectacle of annual wildlife migration in the world happens in the two adjoining parks as about a million Wildebeest cross north and south looking for greener pasture. The Serengeti also boasts of its lions and Cheetahs whereas zebras number about 200,000 other animals include giraffes grant and Thomson's gazelle Impalas, elands, warthogs and klipspringers. It is also rich with bird life.

Day 9

Serengeti National Park- Lake Manyara

Early morning game viewing drive in the Serengeti. After breakfast, drive at 1000 hrs to the Ngorongoro Highlands. You will have lunch at Gibbs Farm, formerly a working coffee farm. Then proceed for an afternoon visit of the waterfalls en-route to Lake Manyara to arrive in time for dinner at your lodge.

You will spend the night at Kirurumu Tented Lodge. The lodge is perched on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment and has great views of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara itself.

Dinner and overnight at Kirurumu Tented Lodge or similar.

Day 10

Lake Manyara - Arusha

After breakfast, depart at 0830 hrs for a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park till lunch time. After lunch, depart for Arusha arriving in the afternoon.

The Lake manyara National park covers 330 sq. km, 70% of which is occupied by the lake. The varied ecosystem consists of ground water forests, acacia woodland and open grassland along the lakeshore and sustains a wealth of wildlife, including the Big Five -lion, elephant, leopard, rhino and buffalo. The park is famous for the elusive tree-climbing lions that inhabit the woodland between the lake and the Rift Valley. It is also an ornithologists’ paradise and is host to over 400 species of birds.

Day 11

Arusha – Nairobi – Mombasa – Diani Reef Beach Resort & Spa

After breakfast, depart at 0800 hrs by Impala shuttle bus for Nairobi, crossing the Namanga border then to Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your afternoon Flight to Mombasa's Moi International Airport and consequently transferring to Diani Reef Hotel for your beach holiday.
