Day 1

Arrival - Nairobi - Amboseli National Park

Upon your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport,you will be met and received by our Tour Manager who will brief you on your safari and then you will be transferred to the Wilson Airport. Flight to Amboseli takes off at 08:15 hrs and lands at 08:55 hrs.You will be met at the Airstrip by our tour guide/driver and proceed straight for a morning game drive. Lunch will be served in your lodge .After a short rest in the afternoon you will proceed for an afternoon game drive till dusk.

Amboseli sits on the lower slopes of mighty Mount Kilimanjaro(Africa’s highest mountain) whose peak lies across the border in Tanzania. It is quite an experience to see Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in an early morning. The animal pictures arising against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain will thrill the photography enthusiast. Amboseli National Park is renowned for its huge elephant herds. You will also see buffalo, black rhino, zebra, wildebeest and other plain animals.

Day 2

Amboseli National Park;

Pre breakfast game viewing drive in Amboseli National Park. Weather permitting you will be able to view animals with the bewildering spectacle of Mt. Kilimanjaro forming a backdrop. You will return to the lodge for breakfast after which you will rest until the late afternoon - 4.00pm for another game drive returning to your lodge in the evening.

Amboseli is nevertheless quite lush in places, because the melting snows of Kilimanjaro flow underground into the park, continually feeding water to springs, swamps, and marshes. Because of this easy availability of water, Amboseli has always been a favorite spot for wildlife. In addition to the 900 or so elephants that live there, zebra, wildebeests, giraffes, impala, leopards, lions, hippos, antelope, rhinos, wild dogs, hyenas, cheetah, buffalo, and more than 400 species of birds all gather in the haven of the park.

Day 3

Mount Kenya National Park - Samburu National Park;

After breakfast enjoy your last game drive through the park as you depart for Samburu National Reserve by road. (This is because there is no scheduled flight to Samburu on this day).You will arrive in good time for lunch at your tented camp and then proceed for an afternoon game drive till dusk.

Samburu National Reserve is a wild life haven. Here you will sport Africa’s big cats-lions, cheetahs and the elusive leopard. Some animals are unique to this northern Kenya Park; gravy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, kudus and gerenuk. The Ewaso Nyiro River, the boundary with the neighboring buffalo spring s national reserve, is where the elephant’s buffalo and other animal’s species gather for a drink. You will find the scenic semiarid landscape quite dramatic. The reserve is located within the lands of the colorful semi-nomadic Samburu tribesmen.

Day 4

Samburu National Reserve - Maasai Mara Game Reserve;

After breakfast, you will be transferred with a game drive en-route to the Airstrip for your flight to Maasai Mara departing at 09:30 hrs and lands at 11:00 hrs.You will be met at the Airstrip by our tour guide/driver and drive straight to Maasai Mara Game Reserve for a full day game drive till dusk.Picnic lunch will be provided.

The Masai Mara is famous for it’s black maned lions, elephants and buffalo that make three out of the ‘big five’ though luck is essential for spotting the other two namely park’s animal concentration and abundance is second to none. We will cater for a picnic lunch at the hippo pool where with luck you may spot crocodiles basking on the rocks. Numerous plains game including antelopes, wildebeest, zebra, and Maasai giraffe can be seen as well as scavengers like hyena and vulture. In the late afternoon (at an extra cost), go for optional activities like having a nature walk, visiting Maasai villages to see the nomadic lifestyle or swimming in the nearby lodges.

Dinner and Overnight Stay at Sopa Lodge or Keekorok Lodge.

Day 5

Maasai Mara Game Reserve;

After breakfast enjoy the Sunrise over the open grassland which signals the start of a full day on the game-filled plains; photograph the stately black maned Lion, Cheetah, or Leopard, stocking defenseless herds of Wildebeest and other herbivores.

Day 6

Maasai Mara Game Reserve;

On this day at 5.00am you will be woken up for your launch of the Balloon flight at 6.00am.

Take the opportunity to fly over the Mara in a Hot air Balloon provided at an extra cost of US$ 450 per person. The balloon package includes a champagne breakfast in the wild! If you can spare the money, viewing abundant game afloat a balloon is an unforgettable experience.

Day 7

Maasai Mara Game Reserve - Mombasa - Diani Beach;

After breakfast, have a final game drive in Maasai Mara National Reserve.You will then transfer to the Airstrip to take your flight to Mombasa. On your arrival at the Ukunda Airstrip or Moi International Airport you will be met by our Tour representative who will transfer you to your Mombasa Beach Resort. After lunch start your beach holiday enjoying what Diani can offer.

All meals and Overnight Stay at Papillon Lagoon Reef Resort.

Day 8

Diani Beach(3 Full days)

After breakfast these days are spent at leisure in this beautiful stretch of white sands less than one hour's drive from the famous port of Mombasa. A lunch cruise on the famous Tamarind Dhow will be a magical experience at an extra cost.

Optional; You will enjoy riding along with our experienced tour guides with a guaranteed safety to the villages where you will enjoy mingling with the villagers, little villagers in their classrooms, traditional medicine man and cultural dancers who will take you through the steps of African dances and taste the African beer made from coconut juice from coconut fruit tapped young.

Day 11

3rd November, 2009: Diani Beach - Moi International Airport - Departure;

Enjoy your morning breakfast and Cruise to the African villages with Diani Bikes and experience the African culture and lifestyles and entertainment brewed in an African pot if you so wish.

Return back to your Beach resort in time for check out and proceed to the Mombasa Moi International Airport reaching in time for your flight to your next destination.

End of safari.
