Itinerary

Day 1

Nairobi - Mara
After breakfast picked up from your city hotel, and depart for Masai Mara game reserve, which is commonly known for the 'big five'. It takes about five hours to get there via Narok the only Maasai town. Arrive in time for lunch, then afternoon game drive.

Dinner and overnight at Mara Springs camp or similar.

Day 2

Mara
Pre-breakfast morning game drive which gives you the chance to see animals hunting, thereafter back to the lodge for lunch. Afternoon you can go for game drive or relax by the pool or visit the Maasai villages.

There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 birds species recorded on the Masai Mara Reserve. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion and rhino.

Day 3

Mara- Nakuru
After breakfast check out and have an en-route game drive as you drive into the Great Rift Valley. Arrive in Nakuru National Park in time for lunch. After lunch proceed for an afternoon game drive in the park, which has some rare animals like white rhinos and Rothschild giraffes.

Lake Nakuru National Park
Located 160km Northwest of Nairobi, is home to millions of fuchsia pink flamingoes, the fish eating pelicans as well as over 450 other species of birds. It is also a good location for game viewing, including the black rhino, the lion, and the waterbuck as well as other antelopes. It is one of the best places to see the leopard as well as the endangered Rothschild Giraffes. The national park was gazzeted to protect the flamingoes and also provide sanctuary to endangered species like the rhino. Although the main attraction to the park is the pink flamingos, a visitor will also get to see plenty of giraffes, waterbucks and other game.

Day 4

Nakuru
After breakfast depart for a game drive with packed lunch so as to have a taste of lunch in the wild, or a picnic lunch at one of the picnic sites. Continue on in the afternoon till dusk.

Day 5

Nakuru - Aberdares National park.
After breakfast depart for the Aberdare National Park, arriving. At the Tree Hotel in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon in leisure watching the elephants at the waterhole.

In the Aberdares you find icy rivers, spectacular waterfalls and rain forests. Here elephants, buffalos and other animals visit you at the floodlit waterholes of The Ark.
Aberdares National Park has a diverse topography that includes icy rivers, spectacular waterfalls and rain forests. The flora and fauna is quite unique and is not found elsewhere in the country, expect on Mount Kenya. Leopard, elephant, serval, waterbuck, reedbuck, dikdik, rhino and the rare bongo can all be found here. You are sure to see elephants, buffalos and some other animals at the floodlit waterholes of Treetops Lodge. Birdlife is also plentiful, including the monkey eating crowned eagle.

Day 6

Aberdares
Spend the whole day sampling what the park has to offer with scheduled game drives in the morning and afternoon as you also enjoy the captivating and breathtaking scenary of the Mount. Kenya.

The foothill of the Aberdare national park are covered with huge trees which the higher you go, gradually give way to bamboo forests. From about 3000 meters upwards the landscape consist primary of Alphine moorland, still higher is an area of grassland with form to time giant lobelias presenting and attractive contrast. The rich vegetation of this park is blessed with crystal clear streams, waterfalls and lakes teeming with fish.
This means an ideal habitat for a wide variety of mammal and birds although the wild life here is still very shy and the lodges often have to put out salt - licks to attract the animals. With a bit of luck it is possible to see the "big five" whereas it may be some what more difficult to sight the local black varieties of leopards and servals.

Day 7

Aberdares - Nairobi
After breakfast, depart for Nairobi arriving n time for a complimentary lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant and get a chance to sample Kenya's best dishes. Afterwards transfer to airport for your flight to your next destination.

End of safari.
