Day 1
Greater Accra/Volta/Eastern/Ashanti/Brong Ahafo/Northern/Central Regions.
Upon arrival at the Kotoka International Airport, a representative from Blastours meets group for transfer to the hotel. Spend the night at the Regency Hotel *** (or similar), Accra
Day 2
Set off for the Aburi Botanical Gardens, which offers a rich collection of tropical flora. Not far from the gardens are craftsmen who use wood and leather to create art unique to Ghana. Continue trip to the bead factory and market before descending into Akosombo to visit the dam. Upon arrival experience a 2-hour boat ride along the Volta River. Day 3
Set off for the Volta Region to the village of Logba Tota, located at the foot of Mount Afadjato. Trek through villages, cocoa farms and mountain rain forest to the waterfalls. Spend the late afternoon at the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, where monkeys live in complete harmony with the residents. Visit the nearby village for a cultural interaction. Day 4
Visit the Dr. Noamesi's Herbal treatment and research centre, which is recognized by UNESCO, OAU, etc. Return with stopovers at craftsmen dealing in kente, drum making, pottery, etc along the route. Return to Akosombo in the afternoon Overnight at the Volta Hotel*** (or similar) in Akosombo
Day 5
Start trip to the Ashanti Region through the picturesque mountainous region of the Eastern Region. Visit the Kumasi cultural centre in the afternoon. Spend the night at the Hotel Georgia*** (or similar) in Kumasi
Day 6
Visit the Bobiri forest and Butterfly reserve, with a wide collection of birdlife. Visit the craft villages of Ahwiaa (carving) and Ntonso (adinkra textiles). Group members can learn the process of Adinkra printing from a Master and also stamp chosen motives on t-shirts. Continue trip to a village, where a presentation will be made to the Chief after which we learn about the history of the region from the Elders. Day 7
Spend the morning on the banks of Lake Bosomtwi, a crater lake believed to have been created by a fallen meteorite. A tour to the fishing villages that surrounds it reveals the cultural practices of the villages in the hinterland. Experience an optional canoe ride on the lake. *It is a taboo to use power boats on the lake. Continue trip to the Brong Ahafo Region. Day 8
Start the day with a visit to the Boabeng Fiema Monkey Sanctuary, where Mona and black and white Colobus monkeys are considered to be a significant part of the community. Visit the Tano Boase Rock formation, which exhibits a variety of huge beautiful hanging and hollow rocks. Explore the sacred groves and caves, where villagers sought refuge during slave raids and tribal wars; A hike along the trails to spot antelopes, baboons and monkeys. Day 9
Set off for the Northern Region to the Mole National park, home to 93 species of mammals, including herds of elephant, buck, and a wide range of bird life. Visit little farming settlements along the way Overnight stay at the Mole Motel in Damongo
Day 10
Spend the day free at the National park viewing elephants and other protected species of the game reserve. Spend the afternoon by the poolside in the hot afternoon of the safari region. Overnight stay at the Mole Motel in Damongo
Day 11
Return to Kumasi with visits to mud hut settlements along the way. Overnight stay at the Hotel Georgia*** in Kumasi
Day 12
Visit the Manyiah Palace, seat of the Ashanti Kingdom before continuing from there to the Central Region. Stopover at Assin Manso, where a river on the former slave route used to bathe slaves before been sent to the coast for shipment is located. Continue trip to the Central Region. Upon arrival, we visit the Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO heritage site. Overnight stay at the Coconut Grove Beach Resort*** in Elmina
Day 13
Visit the Kakum National Park, which comprises of undisturbed virgin rainforest to experience a walking tour on the longest and highest canopy walkway in West Africa. We make a brief stopover at the Hans Botel, a resort partly built on stilts on a river with crocodiles, lots of bird life and monkeys. Spend the rest of the day free at the beach. Overnight stay at the Coconut Grove Beach Resort*** in Elmina
Day 14
Visit the Elmina Castle, another well-preserved castle. Take an optional walk through the Elmina Township to view some homes built in colonial style and also to experience the lifestyle of the Fantis. Take a stroll to Forts Jago and the Elmina fish market. Return to Accra after lunch. Spend the night at the Regency Hotel *** (or similar), Accra
Day 15
Visit the Arts Centre for National Culture, the Aid To Artisans of Ghana (ATAG), etc., for last minute shopping before departure. (No overnight stay)
