| A pilgrimage trip from Sharm El Sheikh to the mountain of Ten Commandments, Mount Sinai, for a memorable experience and watching the sun rise from its peak.
This is an unforgettable trip. The holy peak stands 2882 meter (7500 feet) above the sea level. According to Christian tradition this is the Biblical mount Horeb where Moses received the tablets of the Law with Ten Commandments.
We start this trip at night, pick you up from your hotel in Sharm el Sheikh, then drive with the car into the desert for around 2 hours till the holy valley.
There are two ways to reach the peak of the mountain: one consists of 3750 steps made by monks and the other one is a normal road carved by Egyptian authorities in the 19th century, is an indirect route which can be traversed on foot or on animal back.
On the top of Mount Moses is a chapel dedicated to the Holy Trinity. To the north of the chapel is a cave where tradition holds that God put Moses.
The view from the peak is truly breathtaking and well worth the efforts of ascending.
In the morning we?ll visit the famous monastery of St. Catherine and you will see all its treasuries and come close to the life of the monks.
Breakfast we?ll have in St. Catherine city. After visiting we will drive back to your hotel. |
