Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival Cotonou. Arrival international Airport Cotonou. Assistance for formalities. Transfer to Hotel, dinner and overnight.
Day 2
Cotonou city tour/Ganvie. Breakfast buffet. Cotonou city tour. Visit of the Government district, the Ganhi market zone, the international Dantokpa market with its luring traders, the handicraft center. Afternoon, depart to lake village Ganvié, the "Venice of Africa" with its houses built on stilts. We visit the fishers' street, the lovers' lane, the Francophonie villa etc. Transfer to Cotonou late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Hotel du Lac.
Day 3
Porto-Novo/Ketou. Breakfast buffet, departure to Porto-Novo, the capital of Benin Republic. Visit of museum Honmè of King Toffa 1er, the ethnographic museum Senou Adande with its masks and sculptures collection, the Brazilian mosque etc. Cross over to Ketou and visit of the Magic Gate that moved alone from another place to here. Courtesy visit to his majesty King Adetutu, the monarch of this western Yoruba land. Transfer late afternoon to Cotonou. Dinner and overnight at Hotel du Lac.
Day 4
Ouidah. Breakfast buffet, departure to Ouidah the ancient slave trading post and world capital of voodoo cult. Visit of the sacred forest of King Kpasse, the historic museum located in the in the Portuguese castle, the temple of sacred pythons, the road of Slaves leading via Memorial of Zoungbodji to the Gate of No-Return. Transfer to Cotonou in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Hotel du Lac.
Day 5
Cotonou/Abomey. Breakfast buffet, departure to Abomey, the so called city of the Kings and former capital of the ancient Danhome Kingdom. Stop over in Allada to visit the memorial of Toussaint Louverture the hero liberator of Haiti. Cross over to Abomey. We visit the Goho Square, the historic museum World Heritage for UNESCO with its low-relieves, the king's thrones set on human skulls, the common grave of 41 queens who offered voluntarily to be sacrificed and follow the dead king in the hereafter. We shall also here the story of the Amazones the famous and powerful ladies warriors, the handicraft center, etc. Transfer to Hotel Dako 1er (2*). Dinner and overnight.
Day 6
Abomey/Natitingou. Continental breakfast, departure to Nord-Benin. Stop over in Dassa-Zoume and visit of the Cave where the Holy Mary appeared, and nowadays Pilgrimage place for Roman Catholics. Cross over via Savalou. We visit the the powerful voodoo Dankoli who will grant your wishes. Arrival in Natitingou late afternoon. Dinner and overnight Hotel Tata Somba (3*).
Day 7
Natitingou/Pendjari. Continental breakfast, early departure to Pendjari National Park. Stop over at Tanougou Waterfalls where you can have a swim. We enter the park in Batia and start the Safari: we shall see wild animals free in the park: lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, antelopes and many monkey species, boars, crocodiles and many bird species. Transfer to hotel Campement de la Pendjari, dinner and overnight
Day 8
Pendjari (ponds tour). We wake early. Continental breakfast. Visit of the ponds namely: Diwouni, Yangouali, Fogou, Sacred pond, etc
Day 9
Pendjari/Natitingou. We wake early. Continental breakfast. We go for a tour in search of the animals in the morning. In the afternoon, transfer to Natitingou. Dinner and overnight Hotel Tata Somba (3*).
Day 10
Natitingou/Koussoukangou/Boukoumbe. Continental breakfast, visit of the regional museum of Natitingou and departure for Koussoukouangou to visit the Tatas, castles and kind of forts by the Somba ethnic group, the panoramic viewpoint from where you can see part of Republic of Togo. Cross over to Boukoumbe where are built the most beautiful Tatas. Transfer late afternoon Natitingou. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Tata Somba (3*).
Day 11
Natitingou/Kota/Taneka Koko/Parakou. Continental breakfast, departure to Parakou, the biggest town in Nord-Benin. Visit Kota waterfalls, the picturesque village of Taneka Koko hanging at mountain side. We drive through green landscapes. Arrival Parakou in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Les Routiers (3*).
Day 12
Parakou/Grand-Popo. Continental breakfast, today we shall drive down toward the south. We see the remarkable Mamelles of Save, the potters in Se. Arrival in Grand Popo late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Auberge de Grand Poo (2*).
Day 13
Grand-Popo. Rest on the Beach. Continental breakfast, different games and enjoyment will fulfill this day on the sandy beach surrounded by coconut trees of this historical town. Dinner and overnight at Auberge de Grand Poo (2*).
Day 14
Grand-Popo/Cotonou. Continental breakfast, morning at leisure on the sandy beach surrounded by coconut trees. Late afternoon, transfer to Cotonou, Dinner and overnight at Hotel du Lac.
Day 15
Shopping/Depart. Breakfast Buffet, Morning at leisure and dedicated to personal contacts. In the evening transfer to airport. Assistance for formalities. Departure.
