Quito Parks & Gardens

Metropolitan Park - Surrounded by trees and gigantic works of art, this park in the centre of Quito has 557 hectares, where you can see more than 70 species of birds and also enjoy a mountain cycle track, camping and picnic sites, soccer, volleyball and basketball fields and a skating track.

Park the Ejido - The park marks the division between the old and new city and has over 1470 species of native plants, like cholan, alder, chamburo and the guabos. On weekends, a market is held, where you can buy artworks, silver jewellery and ponchos.

G SPOT - Jose Calama 182 y Diego de Almagro - The Mariscal. The best burgers in Quito is this restaurant's speciality, served in a relaxed atmosphere and is also popular with locals.

Sushi Itto - Quicentro Shopping, Naciones Unidas y 6 Diciembre. Although its speciality is seafood and fish, especially, it does also offer some authentic Ecuadorian-style food at reasonable prices.

The Turtle's Head - La Nina 626 y Juan Leon Mera. The only place to find real beer in Quito, this mirco-brewery/restaurant also serves the best plate of fish and chips, according to the locals.

Café Bar Tarot - Diego Almagro 429 y Lizando Garcia. A full bar, lively, good music and someone to read the tarot cards for you to discover your destiny.
