| Alta is a skier’s mountain and snowboarding is not allowed. The deep powder snow and rugged terrain make it a prime destination for hard-core skiers, but it also has great beginner and intermediate terrain, and provides opportunities for every level of expertise. There are all the usual services in the area with helicopter and backcountry tours, lodging, dining and church services.
