Mt Hood Meadows is located 52 miles east of Portland on Oregons most beautiful mountain. Mt Hood has a naturaly rugged terrain and keeps advanced skiers and snowboarders happy for days. The terrain is varied and although great for experts, beginners will also find some good skiing at Mt Hood Meadows. The resort also now has summer skiing for die hard enthusiasts.

Mt Hood Meadows was opened in 1968 and is the second largest resort in Oregon with a capacity of 14 950 skiers per hour and 430 inches of snowfall on its 2150 acres of skiable terrain. There is also a great cross country course, ski school, snowboarding park and night skiing.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Nearby Attractions: The small village of Hood River is located 35 miles from Mt Hood Meadows and has a wonderful friendly bustling atmosphere. In Summer the Columbia River has world class windsurfing and the surrounding area is popular for climbing, golfing, mountain biking, hiking, horeback riding and fishing. Mt Hood has an ice skating rink that is great for kids and the village also has a number of restaurants and shops.

Portland is only 52 miles from Mt Hood Meadows and is a muh larger city with a number of attractions from galleries to museums to shops and restaurants.
Aprés-Ski: Mt Hood Meadows has two base area lodges where skiers can relax after a long day on the slopes. There are also eight slopeside restaurants and bars.

A great place to dine in Hood Rivers is the Hood River Hotel's excellent northern Italian restaurant, Pasquales. The food at Pasquales is spectacularly good and there is a wide assortment of dishes on the menu including pork, veal, salmon, prawns and pasta.

Their freshly baked Italian bread is the best in Oregon and served with homemade soup. For desert try the unbelievable semifrddo cake, chocolate ganache and Amaretto flan. For great nightlife and many more restaurants, Portland is the place to go.
