Nearby Attractions: A visit to nearby Mackenzie's wilderness, will bring you into contact with the area's diverse wildlife population. Mugaha Marsh, located near Gantahaz subdivision, is well known for its wildlife viewing opportunities, including moose, bear, and a wide variety of birds. Five minutes north of Powder King Mountain Resort you will find Azouzetta Lake.
This picturesque lake where mountains seem to disappear right into the water, is a favourite with scuba divers. The water's clarity and the extreme depths, make it the ideal diving spot. The Fraser-Fort George Regional Museum, in the nearby town of Prince George, offers a brief overview of the area's First Nation's history.
Situated on the banks of the Fraser River in Fort George Park, the museum stands on the site of the original Hudson's Bay Trading Post. Among the park's attractions are a First Nations graveyard, a working miniature replica railway, a replica of the Fort George Theatre and an old-fashioned General Store display. |
