Marmot Basin is found in the beautiful wilds of the Eastern Rockies and is 30 minutes from Jasper, the nearest town. The resort offers skiing for all abilities, although it is probably more suited to intermediate skiers, who will enjoy the several black pistes. There is over 1000 acres of slopes from long, gentle slopes for the novice to steep, high alpine bowls and chutes for the intermediate and more advanced.

Powder skiers and boarders will find Marmot Basin a paradise as there are large snow filled bowls at the resort. The skiing is typically North American, user-friendly and stress free with scenery which is magnificent.

Snowboarders will have a great time at Marmot Basin. Here you will be able to experience the Canadian mountain life and wildlife such as deer, elk and many other animals. The skiing at Marmot Basin is great with the added bonus of superb scenery.

There are the Columbia Ice fields which are the largest south of Alaska, where you will see shimmering glacial ice and snow which covers about 389 sq. km.

Check out the Miette Hot Springs which is located in the beautiful Fiddle Valley and has steamy, warm soothing mineral-rich waters. There are so many wonderful sights to see and explore that you may find that skiing might take a back seat.

However there is not much nightlife and the best place to find a variety of entertainment and nightlife is the town of Jasper.

Jasper Townsite and Marmot Basin - by Adam from Canada - 2008-02-12
There is no quarter pipe at Marmot Basin. There is no bowling alley in Jasper and I am pretty sure that the Miette Hot springs are closed for the majority of the season. Otherwise this review seems fairly accurate.
