Zermatt is the place to go for snowsports, whether its skiing; snow boarding; sledding; or hiking. The area is also famous for some of the most beautiful scenery, and is stuated on the Swiss and Italian border. There are over 394km of pistes, with something for all levels of experience and abillity.

Beginners have a slightly less variety to choose from; internediates have a good selection of runs; and there are some excellent off-pistes for experts. The town itselff is charming and mostly traffic free. The Apres Ski scene is pretty good, with many non skiing activities on offer and a lively nightlife.
