Popular Travel Destinations

Cortina D'Ampezzo is one of the best ski resorts in Italy, and is in the same group as Courchevel; St Moritz and Lech/Zurs. The resort has a great atmosphere and is classically Italian, with a lively Apres Ski scene. This is where the affluent Italians go to get away and have some fun. Most of the runs are best suited for beginners and intermediates, while experts will have to look around for some good off-pistes and black runs.

There is an excellent park and half-pipe for snow boarders. The disadvantages of Cortina is that it is quite expensive, and the ski area isn't served by a good lift system, which means you might have to wait in line for a while. This is the place to go if you want to rub shoulders with the richer Italians, and see what there ALpine scene is like.
