Bardonechia is situated on the Italian side of the Frejus tunnel that links Italy and France. It is a good place to use as a base for exploring the Trois Vallees and the Milky Way. There are around 140km of pistes, with the majority being best suited for intermediates. The beginners pistes that are foundhere are quite difficult, and not suited for families with young children.

Experts have a few decent off-pistes to choose from, but for challenging runs will have to do some travelling. The town itself is quite large and is based around the train station, which has a short transfer to Turin. The resort is very busy over weekends and more quiet during the week. Apres Ski is mixed, quiet during the week and quite lively over the weekends.
