The Steinach ski resort is situated amongst the beauty of the Tirol valley. The resort features a total of 6 lifts, 6 slopes and 38km of cross-country skiing. Although the resort caters predominantly for beginners, there is also a sufficient amount of challenges available to keep intermediates and experts amused for hours. The resort also caters well for snowboarders with a specialised boarding park.
The Apre ski scene is very laid-back and offers only a limited amount of non-skiing activities. The resort is equipped with a few nice restaurants and a couple of bars. Other activities include snowshoeing, paragliding and hand gliding. There is also a beautiful range of hiking and walking trails available. |

Nearby Attractions: Visitors who wish to take a bit of a break from skiing, can venture to the nearest town of Wipptal, which offers a selection of activities available for entertainment. The Heilig Geist church is a wonderful place to enjoy a bit of sightseeing. The church was originally built in 1447 and was rebuilt in 1640, due to a fire which completely destroyed the structure.
The church contains a stunning Romanesque-style altar which dates back to 1909. The St. Peter und Paul church is another site well worth a visit. This is one of the oldest churches in the region and was once mentioned in a document in 1236. The church was restored in 1980 and features a beautiful example of late Gothic and Baroque-style architecture. |
