The Obertauern ski village is situated on the Tauern pass and features a total of 120km of pistes, 600m of it being a vertical drop. The resort is home to an excellent ski and snowboarding school, which caters well for beginners and intermediates.
The resort features a typical Austrian Apre ski scene, consisting of wild and lively parties and lots of beer. There are also a couple of shops and a great selection of excellent restaurants serving delicious traditional Austrian cuisine.
Overall, Obertauern is one of Austria's top 5 resorts, with great skiing opportunities and a wonderful nightlife. |

Nearby Attractions: The town of Salzburg offers visitors a great selection of entertainment, should they wish to take a bit of a break from skiing. The Salzburger Tiergarten Hellbrunn is a wonderful place to visit to enjoy a fun-filled family outing. The zoo is home to a couple of interesting animals such as otters, white rhinoceros, antelope and cheetahs.
There are also a couple of museums and palaces which are worth a visit such as the Carolino Augusteum-Volkskundemuseum and the Hellbrunn Palace. |
Aprés-Ski: The Apre ski scene is everything you can expect from a typical Austrian resort. Wild and lively parties accompanied by lots of beer drinking. The resort sports a couple of entertaining bars, as well as some shops and a great selection of traditional Austrian restaurants.
