The beautiful little ski resort of Imst is situated in the Western part of the gorgeous Tirolean region. The winter season in Imst is the most beautiful and offers a large range of activities, such as snowboarding, hiking, climbing, walking, snowshoeing, skiing and tobogganing.
The resort offers a total of 4 lifts and 9km of cross-country skiing, which are mostly favoured by intermediates and beginners. It must however be said that the resort offers something for every degree of difficulty.
There is also an excellent ski school available for beginners and children, making it a wonderful place to enjoy a family skiing holiday. The Apre ski scene is very laid-back. The resort does not offer many non-skiing activities, it consists mainly of restaurants and a few bars. There is also a range of gorgeous nature walking and hiking trails available. |

Nearby Attractions: The town of Imst offers visitors a good selection of entertainment should they wish to take a break from skiing. Should you wish to do a bit of sightseeing, the Aigner Badl is a good place to start off the day. It consists of an ancient farm-style sulfur spa dating back to 1772. The water aids in the relief of rheumatism, gout, sciatica and various types of wounds.
Another place which is definitely worth a visit is the Carnival Museum, which was the winner of the 2003 Tirolean Museum Award. The museum features a wonderful exhibition of masks and the Schemenlauf carnival parade.
Other places of interest is the Heimatmuseum Tarrenz, Museumsgalerie Tarrenz, Antoniuskapelle and the Schlob Starkenberg castle. |
