The Igls Ski resort is situated at the foot of Patscherkofel. The resort is surrounded by the lush beauty of stone-pine forests and offers the most magnificent views of the surrounding area. It is located only 4km from the town of Innsbruck and is part of a collection of small domains, which offer a total of 130km of skiing runs.
The resort offers an excellent ski school for beginners, as well as a children's ski school. The resort is mostly favoured by beginners and early intermediates. The resort offers a limited apre ski scene, which consists mainly of a couple of restaurants and a handful of bars and shops. |

Nearby Attractions: The Igls resort is situated only 4km from the town of Innsbruck. Visitors who wish to take a break from skiing can take the short trip to the town and indulge in various activities which are available for entertainment and sightseeing. A good place to start the day off with is the Cathedral of St. James.
The cathedral was constructed in true baroque-style architecture during 1717 and 1724. The Swarovski Kristallwelten is a wonderful place to enjoy a family outing. It consists of a crystal fantasy world, featuring brilliant crystalline artworks of fairy tale magic.
The Alpenzoo is another popular attraction, housing a collection of more than 800 animals which belong to more than 140 different species. Visitors can expect to see animals such as otters, eagles, elk, rabbits, vultures, wildcats, bison, and wolves. |
Aprés-Ski: The resort offers a very limited Apre Ski scene, which consists mainly of a couple of nice restaurants and a handful of bars and shops. There is however also a sports and leisure center, which is equipped with a large indoor swimming pool.
Also available for entertainment for both young and old is a bowling alley and an ice rink. There are also numerous stunning walking trails, as well as hand gliding and paragliding facilities available. |
