The Hochfugen ski resort is situated right at the entrance of the Tyrolean Zillertal valley. Due to the high altitude of the resort, it offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountain range. The resort has become one of the most popular skiing areas and offers an excellent range of skiing activities, such as snowboarding, cross-country skiing and tobogganing.
The resort features a total of 11 lifts and 27 slopes, which cater predominantly for intermediates and beginners. There is also a specialised boarding park available for snowboarders.
The Apre ski scene is rather well equipped and consists of a couple of bars and clubs, as well as a good selection of restaurants specialising in traditional Austrian and international cuisine. |

Nearby Attractions: The nearest town of Fugen offers a great selection of attractions for those who wish to take a break from skiing. The Marienkapelle is an excellent place to start off a day of sightseeing. The church was originally built in 1652 was later consecrated in 1736.
The Plunggen chapel was built in 1905 and is another site worth a visit. The Bubenburg castle was originally built in 1816 and today is used as private school boarding house. Another place of interest is the Orgeltisch im Gemeindehaus.
The house contains a historical organ, which was built in 1747 and 1748 by Master Andreas Mitterreiter. The organ was used by the famous Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, at the age of 16 in 1772. |
Aprés-Ski: The Apre ski scene is rather well equipped and consists of a couple of bars and clubs, as well as a good selection of restaurants specialising in traditional Austrian and international cuisine.
There is also an extensive range of walking and hiking trails available, as well as hand gliding and paragliding facilities.
