 The Flagler Museum - Cutural Attraction |
Cast an eye on exquisite architecture and some railroad history when visiting The Whitehall estate, which was home to Henry Flagler, owner of the Florida East Coast Railway in the early 20th Century. Whitehall was built in a Beaux-Arts style of the Gilded Age. The interior is decorated as different period rooms. On the south lawn the original, restored Railcar #91 is exhibited.
The museum is closed on Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day, but open on all other days of the year. Address: Corner of Cocoanut Row and Whitehall Way, Palm Beach.

This Art Deco/Neo-Classic building boasts with a permanent collection of 5 000 works of art. The new Gail and Melvin Nessel wing that was opened in 2003 consists of an additional 14 galleries. The building itself is an impressive piece or architecture and each of the three levels are home to different themes of art, ranging from photography to Chinese art to European and American art.
