Children's Museum - Children’s Activity
200 W Island Ave, Tel (619) 2335437 - A spacious museum devoted to entertaining and educating children. It's all about activities and discoveries. There's a dress-up stage, an art zone, virtual reality games and a bus called The Bookstop.

Sea World Marine Park - Tourist Attraction
500 Sea World Drive, Tel (619) 2263901 - a full day's entertainment. This marine park covers 152 acres of Mission Bay. You can take the 5 minute ride up the 98m Skytower for a panoramic view or, in the park's northwest corner, you can take the 30m high Bayside Skyride, where gondola cars take passengers in a 1 km loop over the waters of Mission Bay. The performing whales and dolphins are not to be missed (book in advance).

Balboa Park - Tourist Attraction
Smack bang in the middle of San Diego, this park is a piece of tranquility. With it's lush lawns and traffic free promenades, it is ideal for peaceful walks, jogging, picnics as well as the opportunity to visit 1 of the many museums within the park. San Diego Zoo - Children’s Activity
as one of the best known zoos in the world, it's huge contribution to conservation programmes and it's educational source are widely renowned. With some 4000 animals and 100 acres of land, it could be a good idea to take the 35 minute narrated bus tour that covers most of the zoo. There are also Skyfari rides across the south of the park, 55 meters above the ground, a children's zoo and a nocturnal exploration zoo.

Mission Bay Park - Natural Attraction
4600 acres of well-tended parklands. Previously marshlands, this area has been dredged and landscaped and transformed into a world of beaches, water-sports centres and islands. Visitors can enjoy kite-flying, volleyball, golf, cycling, swimming, fishing and sailing.

Coronado Ferry - Tourist Attraction
1050 N Harbour Drive, Tel - (619) 2344111. A 15 minute trip between the Broadway Pier on Embarcadero and the Ferry Landing Marketplace is breath-taking at dusk when the setting sun illuminates the skyscrapers of Downtown. From the Ferry Landing, you can take a bus or walk along Orange Avenue to the Pacific shore.

Hotel del Coronado - Hotel
Opened in 1888, this beautifully preserved Victorian seaside hotel was built using architects and labour from the railroads. The Crown Room, with its domed ceiling is built from sugar pine without a single nail. It has been used as a setting for several films.

Palomar Mountain - Natural Attraction
1900m of thickly forested landscape that offers breathtaking views over north San Diego Country. Excellent for camping, hiking and trout fishing.

Palomar Observatory - Cutural Attraction
35899 Canfield Road, Palomar Mountain, Tel - (760) 7422119. It houses a computer-controlled telescope with a 200-inch mirror capable of studying areas of the universe that are more than a billion light years away. Although visitors are not allowed to look through the telescope, there is an exhibition area and photo gallery that explains how it works.

Cuyamaca Rancho State Park - Natural Attraction
Tel - (760) 7650755. Just 1 hour's drive east of San Diego, this state park allows you to get away from the city and re-capture the cowboy lifestyle. 25000 acres of wilderness where you can go horseback riding, camping, mountain biking or make use of the 210 kms of hiking trails.
