Christ Church - Tourist Attraction
The best known collage in this university town is centrally located in the St Aldates area of the town. Founded in 1532 by none other than Henry VIII among others. Christ Church is the largest by far and boasts it's own Cathedral.

One gets a strong sense of the hundreds of years of learning in the college.Tom Quad is named after the bell in Tom Tower, there is an art gallery containing some paintings by the masters and beautiful stained glass windows in the church.

The Oxford Story - Tourist Attraction

The Botanic Garden - Natural Attraction
To find the garden just walk down the High Street and you will find the Garden next to Christ Church Meadow. Dating back 300 years the garden is the oldest in Britain. Open to the public in the summer, the glasshouses are interesting with many different varieties. The path connecting Christ Church to the Garden commands fine river views.

Blenheim Palace - Tourist Attraction
This is a day trip from the town being 12 km to the north in the charming town of Woodstock. The palace is well worth the excursion with 187 furnished rooms to get through and exquisitely decorated interiors high archways and marble floors. May Day - Local Festival or Holiday
Great place to be on May 1st as the Magdalen College Choir gets to the top of the tower and serenades the town with Madrigals, the rets of the town have a great time Morris Dancing and indulging in weird traditional English rituals. The only day of the year that the pubs open at 7am, so one can only imagine the state of the Morris Dancing by the evening.

Punting The River - Natural Attraction
There is nothing better on a hot summers day than messing about on the river. In this case the Isis or Cherwell rivers. The visitor can get very tangled up and that tends to annoy the serious rowers and the tall pole is used to guide the boat not whack people, so if you don’t feel confident enough to strike out on your own, then its possible to hire a punter for a fee from the Magdelen Bridge Boat Co just under the bridge.
