The city centre is where you will find the charming heart of town and it's Market Square. For hundreds of years there has been a market in the square, on Monday through till Saturday the stalls sell a variety of goods and crafts are sold on Sundays. Some interesting buildings flank the square including Great St Mary's Church.

 Castle Hill - Natural Attraction |
| From Castle Street take a walk up this hill which served as the town's high point and defence in Norman times. In more modern times the site was used by Cromwell's army in 1642. The view of the city from here makes the effort well worth it. At the base of the hill is Shire Hall which is the headquarters of the local council.

 Ely Cathedral - Cutural Attraction |
Just a short drive from Cambridge in Ely which is in a flat area known as The Fens. The Cathedral rises out of the surrounding countryside like a monolith and is dubbed "The Ship of the Fens". First constructed by the Normans in the 11th century, much of the original remains today and is worth seeing. On site there is a brass rubbing centre and a museum of Stained Glass.

 Punting the River - Sporting Activity |

Cambridge in fine weather is just the place as you can hire a boat to punt(Guide and give power to the boat by using a pole at the floor of the river). Boats can be found at locations along the river and youngsters are available as punters or you can go it alone.

 Fitzwilliam Museum - Cutural Attraction |
The museum of the University of Cambridge is housed in an impressive neoclassical building, and is filled with Egyptian, Roman and Greek art as well as fine examples of the works of Titian, Rubens, Gainsborough, Stubbs and Constable, Cezanne and Picasso. It also has some fine antique furniture.There is no admission charge and you will find a visit here will enlighten the rainiest day.

 Wimpole Hall - Tourist Attraction |
Just about 12kms to the south of the town on the A603 look for the signs this large 18th century National Trust property. Formally the home of Rudyard Kiplings daughter and now open to the public.The house and grounds are beautiful and well worth the drive and entry fee.
It was established in 1794 as a farm and still functions as such, kids will be delighted with the animals.
