Clifton Observatory and Caves - Natural Attraction
Located close to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the observatory has a fascinating camera obscura, that is a curved mirror that rotates to reflect outside views on to a screen.

The adjacent caves are accessible through a small passage that takes one to the Giants Cave for a great view over the gorge. They are two separate attractions and the admission is 1.50 pounds each.

SS Great Britain - Cutural Attraction
Go to the harbourside to visit this popular ship. Built by Brunel as the largest ship steam powered and made of iron, and built for luxury cruising. The Great Britain has been lovingly restored and is well worth viewing.The entry ticket includes The Maritime Heritage Centre and The Matthew which is a replica of a 15th century ship.

At-Bristol - Tourist Attraction
as in many of the worlds harbours the waterfront has been transformed and has renewed Bristol's cultural life. The attractions here include an IMAX cinema, Explore - a hands-on science centre, Wildwalk centre and of course there are a number of cafes, restaurants and bars.

Glass Boat - Restaurant or Cafe
For a unique treat pop down to the harbour and step on board this floating restaurant.The boat was built 80 years ago to haul wood, and is now the ideal venue for that romantic tryst or you could even take your husband/wife. Seriously the food here is second to none(with prices to match).

St. Nicholas Market - Tourist Attraction
This excellent market has been taking place in the city centre for the past 250 years and has 3 distinct elements being the Exchange Hall, Glass Arcade and Covered Market.Basically fresh produce mixes with old books, antique clothing and there is even a psychic. Cafes, snack bars and pubs lend more atmosphere.

Hare on the Hill - Bar or Club
You can find this great pub in St Thomas Street N(off Dove Street). If you like your ale real then look no further as there are at least 5 guest ales to sample(You might have to go on half pints to do them justice). Traditional pub games such as darts, cribbage and shove ha'penny. Not a fruit machine or alcopop in sight so relax and meet folk here. Great pub grub as well, what more could you want!

The Avon Gorge - Hotel
Situated high on the gorge in Sion Hill in the suburb of Clifton. This is a rarity these days for being a top class hotel that is still independent. A great view over the gorge, luxurious accomadation and a first class restaurant make for the perfect break. The friendly staff will immediately put you at ease and a few days here will seem like a fortnight.

Clifton Suspension Bridge - Cutural Attraction
Linking both sides of the Avon Gorge, the bridge's design was a wonder in it's day. Brunel was responsible in 1864, and he and the bridge have a very interesting history that the visitor can discover at the nearby Suspension Bridge Visitor Centre. Walk across to gaze way down the gorge or see it lit up in splendour at night.One of the must do's in the area.

Bristol Balloon Fiesta - Local Festival or Holiday
To see the balloons take off go to Ashton Square or anywhere in the town to witness this spectacular display of colour. It is held for 4 days in August and one of the largest outdoor events in the country. Started in 1979 by a small group of enthusiasts, it now attracts half a million visitors. A village is set up in the large park and there is plenty to do.

Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery - Cutural Attraction
Queens Road in Clifton is where you will find this popular museum. Visitors won't get bored as there are over 4 million items on display here ranging from fine art, natural and human history, marine life, a freshwater aquarium, archaeology and Oriental art

An interesting display of stuffed animals delights children.

The SS Great Britain - Tourist Attraction
The SS Great Britain. Built by Ezimbard Kingdom Brunel.Step back in time on board Brunel’s ss Great Britain – the world’s first great ocean liner. Launched in 1843 to provide luxury travel to New York, the ship set new standards in engineering, reliability and speed.
