 Valencia Cathedral - Tourist Attraction |
Right in the centre of the city lies this 13th century church, which has been built on the original site of a Roman Temple. The interior styles pay tribute to a few different styles including Roman, Gothic and Baroque and pretty well reflect the Cathedral’s history.
The Miguelete (Bell Tower) is a fine octagonal structure and good city views can be had from the arched windows on top. There is a rather cluttered museum on site that displays some interesting artifacts.

 Plaza del Mercado - Tourist Attraction |
| Pl Mercado, This looks more like a church than market, with it’s high domed ceiling, stained glass windows and carved doorways. If you worship food then this is your own Cathedral as at over 8000 sq metres this is one of the largest in Europe. Offering every type of fish you can imagine, meat, fruit (They never run short of oranges) and vegetables and plenty of local delicacies. Worth going just for the smells sights and sounds. |

 Las Fallas - Local Festival or Holiday |
| It would be worth planning your break to coincide with this explosive festival that takes place every year from the 12th to 19th of March. One of the most popular fiestas in a country swimming in them is Las Fallas. Starting off with parades, bullfights, dancing in the streets and fireworks. The culmination of the fiesta is when about 350 paper mache figures of anyone well known are burned simultaneously on the last night (Last night of the Pyroms) and the last to go out will have the luck through the year for the neighbourhood that constructed it.  Jardin Botanico - Natural Attraction |
The city’s excellent Botanical Gardens are situated on the western end of Rio Turia, Maintained to the highest standard by the university and containing 43,000 plant species from around the world. Just a stroll further by the river, you will find manicured formal gardens. At the end there is a massive model of Lilliput for the kids to scramble about on. Free entry.

 Instituto Valencia De Arte Moderno - Cutural Attraction |
IVAM for short. This fine museum is to be found over the old river and due west to Guillem de Castro. The gallery houses a permanent collection of modern art, sculpture and photography. Featuring works from some of Spain’s and the worlds leading contemporary artists.

 The Silk Exchange - Cutural Attraction |
| Easy to find right outside the market, the building looks every inch a castle with it's turreted roof and has been used for the making of silk and textile products since the 16th and 17th centuries. The interior resembles a church and has large columns and ornately carved doorways. It is now used for stamp and coin fairs. |

 Saler Beach - Natural Attraction |
La Albufera Natural Park borders this 6 km of beautiful sandy beach bordered by pine trees. The beach is located 14 km from the city centre and it would be a great idea to combine the two natural attractions in a day. Perfect for the family as there are plenty of shops and cafes lining the shore.

Calle Chiva 40, This relaxing restaurant has earned a fine reputation for serving Spanish cuisine to the highest standards. Named after the chef who qualified in Switzerland. Paella was from Valencia, but that is only one of the varied dishes on the menu. Fresh fish is always popular and the menu constantly changes. Eating here is not as expensive as one would expect.

This lovely little town is just 9km from Valencia and is world famous for the distinctive ceramics that are produced here. You are sure to pick up a bargain from one of the many factory shops. This colourful pottery is also on display throughout the town and on many tiled walls.

| The Miguelete - Tourist Attraction |
| The name given to the largest bell "Miguel" is the origin of this popular label "Miguelete" for one of the city's most characteristic symbols. This tower, octagonal at its base, is over fifty metres high and was designed by Andrés Julià as an independent unit subservient to the cathedral. Inside there is an enormous spiral staircase with 207 steps up to the very top from where one enjoys magnificent views over the city , including the sinuous outline of the old quarter. |
