Alcazaba - Tourist Attraction |
Located in Plaza de la Aduana, the remains of the ancient Moorish palace, is easy walking distance from the city center. The exact date of construction is not known and it is believed to be erected in the 9th or 10th century. There have been many later additions and reconstructions since then.
The palace was once home to Ferdinand and Isabella, dating back to when they conquered the city. The landscape is extremely beautiful due to the orange trees and purple bougainvillea. The palace offers a magnificent view of the city and the bay.

Malaga Cathedral - Cutural Attraction |
The cathedral is located in Plaza Obispo and took more than 200 years to build. It was built on the site of the great mosque and suffered a tremendous amount of damage during the Spanish Civil War. To this day the cathedral still lacks its east tower, yet still remains a beautiful vast portrayal of the changing styles of architecture. The cathedral has since been declared a national monument, its most significant features being the beautifully ornamented choir stalls.

Picasso House-Museum - Tourist Attraction |
The museum is located on the Plaza de la Merced. Picasso was born in 1891 and spent the first 17months of his life living in this 5-story building in the heartbeat of Malaga's historic center. The house has since been excavated and reconstructed into a museum and is home to more than 200 of his famous artworks. The museum also offers monthly exhibitions which feature avant-garde artworks, ranging from Picasso's reigning era.
The museum is open Mon - Sat 10am - 2pm & 5pm - 8pm, Sun 10am - 2pm. Admission is free of charge. |

Cafe de Paris - Restaurant or Cafe |
Located in Velez Malaga 8, this is Malaga's finest restaurant which offers a delicious selection of French and Belgium cuisine. It is situated in the district which surrounds the bullring, formerly known as the Plaze de Toros.
The chef Jose Garcia Cortes has catered for many an important dining rooms and has gained excellent knowledge in the field of delicious cuisine. His specialities include dishes such as crepes gratinees which are filled with baby eels, local whitefish baked in salt and Stroganoff which is made with ox meat. He is also a professional in the likes of interesting deserts, serving tasty treats such as a citrus-flavored sorbet which is made with champagne and custard-apple mousse.

The beautiful little bistro is located Calle Denis Belgrano 5. The restaurant has been open for half a century and features sheltered tables on the sidewalk, which is wonderful on a hot summer's day. The bistro has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, which makes all the guests feel right at home.
The restaurant has a great selection of fresh fish, which is brought from the harbour on a daily basis. Specialities include dishes such as grilled or deep fried fish, deliciously tender loin of veal served with fried potatoes, skewer of pork with tomatoes, red peppers, and fried potatoes and a mouth-watering pork dish which is served with a traditional Malagan wine sauce.

Parador de Malaga-Gibralfaro - Hotel |

Gibralfaro Castle - Cutural Attraction |
Located on the top of Yabal-Faruk hill, where a Phoenician lighthouse was once built. The castle was constructed in the 14th century by Yusuf I and was conquered in 1487 by Catholic Kings. It was later restored, only to be completely destroyed by the French army before it was abandoned in 1812. It has remained a site of historical ruins as it is today. A section of the castle ruins has been transformed into the Parador de Gibralfaro Hotel.
Opening hours depend on the season. During winter daily 9am - 6pm and during summer 9am - 8pm. Admission is free of charge. |

Casa Natal de Picasso - Tourist Attraction |
The museum is located at Plaza de la Merced 15 and contains a selection of 3500 pieces of artworks ranging from more than 200 artists. Amoung these are beautiful ceramics and graphic artworks created by Picasso. Also on display is a range of art from famous artists such as Miro, Christo, Bacon, Brossa, Ernst, Tapies and Moore, the majority of these ranging from 1931 - 1971.
