Barcelona's world famous pedestrianised street, where what seems like the whole world comes for a stroll, especially in the evening twilight. This stretch funs for 1.5km and there is a carnival here 365 days of the year with clowns, street performers, kiosks and stalls. The street was a river bed and runs from Placa Catalunya down to the Columbus statue by the port.
This is the beating heart of the city and should not be missed.

La Sagrada Familia - Tourist Attraction |
Situated on Avinguda Diagonal, Antoni Gaudi the architect whose distinctive works are to be seen all over the city, but no better example exists than this unfinished Cathedral which is magnificent. The facades are truly awesome and unique. Gaudi died in 1926 and the controversial Cathedral has still to be completed. A must see in Barcelona.

The museum is situated in one of Barcelona's most beautiful streets which is full of palaces dating back to the 14th century. Palau d Aguilar is just one of them and houses this very popular museum that traces the famous artist Picasso's early years, and keeps the visitor interested with his life and times. Gothic Quarter and the centre of old Barcelona, The buildings, most of which date back to the 14th century are solid stones structures. The area has an atmosphere of its own, with plenty of small shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. You could easily get lost in the maze of streets and you'll enjoy the experience. Fires de Sant Narcis - Local Festival or Holiday |
This very popular free festival is held annually in October at the beautiful town of Girona, and celebrates Narcissus the patron saint of Girona. The festival is a spectacular display of colour and culture. Street parties, dances, concerts are held and there is an agricultural fair at the same time. Local specialities are sold at this time and it's great to be around the happiness.

The city is rich in Roman remains from their occupation, Notably the Amphitheatre by the sea, Pretori Roma, The Aquaduct and Arc de Bera. A unique mountain range 60 km northwest of Barcelona will captivate the visitor with it's strange rock formations and religious legends. The monastery sits high in the mountains since the 11th century. A cable car will transport you to the monastery that is still lived in by monks. There are some fascinating 'tales' connected with the ancient stones. The area would interest hikers.

This lovely town is 35 km south of Barcelona on the coast and the perfect destination for a quiet weekend, with a fine beach and some interesting sights and close enough to the city for a day trip. The town dates from the 10th century and the skyline is dominated by the parish church, there is also some fine museums, and if you like your nights with life then this is the place.

This theme park is a short ride from Tarragona on the coast and one of Spain's best parks. Costa Caribe is the massive water park area and offers loads of fun for youngsters including waterslides, wave pools, riding the rapids and waterfalls. Figueres - Cutural Attraction |
This pleasant town towards the French border was home to the world famous artist and nutcase, Salvador Dali. He is buried in the museum in the town dedicated in his honour. He built the place as a monument and contains much of the works that made him famous.
