The Cathedral is centrally located in the old part of town. Constructed in 1524 after an earthquake destroyed it 2 years earlier. Looks more like a castle than a Cathedral, Due to the raids into the area from North Africa. The airy interior has a gothic ribbed ceiling and some interesting designs on the stonework.

| You will find this popular restaurant on the Calle Circunvalacion. Close to the covered Mercado. The restaurant is fair sized and decorated in Andalucian style. The wall was constructed in the 11th century by Jairan, the first ruler of Almeria. The wall is interrupted by some hefty towers and fortresses with their thick walls and round towers. Some lovely formal garden areas are dotted in between the bastions. Most of the wall is in a good state of preservation and the views are worth the walk.

This is a beautiful day trip from Almeria and birth place of Walt Disney. Apart from that fact the resort is about an hours drive along the north coast from Almeria. Stroll along the small windy pristine Moorish streets, complete with plazas with stunning views. Originally constructed in 995, this Moorish fortress commands magnificent views over the town and sea. The Alcazaba covers an area of 14 acres and straddles 2 ridges. Free entrance for EU citizens and there are guided tours in English by day and in Spanish in the night.
