 Limerick Museum - Cutural Attraction |
Castle Lane, at Nicholas Street. This museum offers an insight into the history of Limerick, and it contains exhibitions and displays on Limerick's archaeology; natural history; civic treasures; and traditional crafts of lace; silver; furniture; and printing. There are also historical paintings; maps; prints; and photographs on display.
The museum is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10h00 - 13h00 and 14h15 - 17h00. Admission is Free. |

 Hunt Museum - Cutural Attraction |
The Custom House, Rutland Street. The museum is housed in the restored 18th century Old Custom House, its facade is a reduced copy of the Petit Trianon at Versailles. The museum has an extensive collection of 2,000 ancient; medieval; and modern treasures, which includes antiquities and art objects from Europe and Ireland; ancient Irish metalwork; and medieval bronzes, ivories, and enamels. The museum also has a shop and an excellent restaurant. The museum is open MOnday to Saturday from 10h00 - 17h00 and Sunday 14h00- 17h00. Admission is $6.90 for adults; $5.50 for seniors and students; $3.45 for children; and $17 for a family ticket.

 King John's Castle - Cutural Attraction |
| Nicholas Street, on the banks of the Shannon River. The royal fortress is the centerpiece of Limerick's historic area and dates back to 1210. It is one of the oldest surviving examples of medieval architecture in Ireland, and has rounded gate towers and curtain walls. The interior of the castle includes an authentic archaeological excavation dating from Hiberno-Norse times; and gallery displays and an audiovisual presentation portraying Limerick's 800 years of history. The castle is open April to October everyday from 09h30 - 17h30. Admission is $7.10 for adults; $5.75 for seniors and students; $4.40 for children; and $19 for a family ticket. |

 Limerick City Gallery of Art - Cutural Attraction |
Pery Square, People's Park on the corner of Mallow Street. The gallery is housed in the neo-Romanesque Carnegie Building, which dates back to 1903. It exhibits a permanent collection of 18th; 19th; and 20th century art, including some excellent paintings by Ireland's most famous artist, Jack B. Yeats. The gallery also hosts many traveling contemporary art exhibitions, including touring exhibitions from the Irish Museum of Modern Art. The gallery is open Monday to Wednesday and Friday from 10h00 - 18h00; Saturday from 10h00 - 19h00; and Sunday from 15h00 - 17h00. Admission is free.

 St. Mary's Cathedral - Cutural Attraction |
| Bridge Street. The cathedral is located on a hill on King's Island, and dates back to the 12th century. The building houses a collection of excellent antiquities, including a Romanesque doorway; a pre-Reformation stone altar; and a massive stone coffin lid, which is said to be that of Donal Mor O'Brien, one of the kings of Munster. The cathedral is open June to September Monday to Saturday from 09h00 - 17h00; and October to May Monday to Saturday from 09h00 - 13h00. Admission is a donation of $1.50. |

 Horseback Riding - Sporting Activity |
Limerick County's beautiful landscape provides the perfect location for horseback riding and pony trekking. The Clonshire Equestrian Centre, located in Adare, caters for riding for all levels of ability; horsemanship classes, as well as instruction for cross-country riding; dressage; and jumping. Clonshire is also home to the Limerick Foxhounds, and in the winter it's the centre for hunting in the area. Prices are $23 per hour for adults; and $20 per hour for children and students.

Foynes, east of Limerick on N69. This museum is a must for aviation buffs, and it is the first Shannon Airport, which has been restored and reopened as an attraction. The museum complex countains a 1940s-style cinema and cafe; the original terminal building; and the radio and weather rooms with original transmitters; receivers; and Morse code equipment. The museum is open April to October everyday from 10h00 - 18h00. Admission is $5.75 for adults; $4.60 for seniors and students; $3.45 for children; and $16 for a family ticket.
