Modern Art Museum - Cutural Attraction |
La Terrasse. This is one of the main art museums in Europe, thanks to it's large collection of works. The museum houses paintings by Picasso; Leger; Dubuffet; Soulages; Stella; Warhol; Viallat; Richter; and Polke, as well as sculptures by Arp; Richier; Kalder; Oldenburg; Judd; Morris; Pages; Venet; and Lavier. There are many other exhinitions throughout the museum.
The museum is open Wednesday to Monday from 10h00 - 18h00. Admission is $5.20 for adults; $4.20 for students and seniors; and free for children under 12. Admission is also free on the 1st Sunday of every month. |

Mining Museum - Cutural Attraction |
| 3 Bd F. d' Esperey. This is one of the most interesting museums in St Etienne, on the site of the largest mine from the 20th century. You can take a trip down the m ine shaft and see what it's like to work in a mine, the exhibition follows the footsteps of a miner from the miners cloakroom, to the pit-head frame cages and on to the lampstore. There are also many other exhibitions where you can learn everything there is to know about mining. The museum is open Wednesday to MOnday from 10h00 - 12h45 and 14h00 - 19h00. Admission is $6 for adults and $4.50 for students and children. |

Puy de Dome - Natural Attraction |
| This is the top attraction of the Auvergne, and it reaches 1,465 m high which dominates the Puy Chain. This is the best place for a historic and sporting outing. You can reach the Puy de Dome either by taking the winding road to the top; or take the Mule Track, which follows and old Roman path to the Temple of Mercury. From the top you can take in the breathtaking views of the entire Puy Chain and the fertile plains of the Limagne. It is very popular with hang-gliders who float from the top of the dome down to the bottom again. |

Resistance and Loire Deportation Memorial - Cutural Attraction |
Plateau des Ursules, 9 Rue du Theatre. Here there are permanent and temporary theme exhibitions on the resistance movement and the deportation of people to concentration camps during WWII.
Exhibitions include photographic documents; accounts; synthetic texts; newspapers; interned prisoners clothes; armament; and a scale model of the concentration camp of Buchenwald.
The opening hours are Tuesday; Thursday and Friday from 14h00 - 18h00, and WEdnesday and Saturday from 09h00 - 12h00 and 14h00 - 18h00.
