Dieppe Museum - Tourist Attraction |
rue de Chastes. The 15th century castle dominates the town and it's walls are built of flint and sandstone. The castle has been renovated since then and served as a prison during the French revolution. Now it's an interesting museum and houses a collection of impressionist paintings as well as ivory carvings.
A worthwhile couple of hours could be enjoyed here.

The Jean Renoir Cultural Centre - Cutural Attraction |
This is the main centre for cultural events in the town and the facilities include a 650 seater theatre for live shows and film. There is also a restaurant and the town library is on the premises. The town archive is kept here and its worth a wander around on a rainy day.

The aquarium is a great attraction for the whole family. The tanks are well laid out and contain sea life from all over the world. Saturday Market - Tourist Attraction |
| In place Nationale on the Grand Rue. This popular market for fresh produce is held near the harbour and sells the fish that comes off the boats every day (If you are not around on a Saturday, it's possible to buy direct). As it's a busy port the market is never short of fresh food, and the many restaurants mostly specialise in fresh fish. The port being much more of a resort than it's fellow northern France ports, makes for a pleasant short break.

St Jacques Church - Tourist Attraction |
This 600 year old church is situated alongside the Saturday market and is a classic gothic monument with it's growling gargoyles and beautiful stained glass windows. There have since been sculptures added to the church. This is one of the interesting sights in the town and you will enjoy an hour here.

Held in September, This colourful festival has been attracting visitors to Dieppe since 1990. This event is considered to be one of the top kite festivals in the world. The Dieppe Raid - Tourist Attraction |
| In August 1942 the allied troops landed on the Normandy beaches to protect Europe from the advancing Nazi troops. The Juno Beach Centre at nearby Courseulles-sur-Mer was opened in 2003 and sponsored by the Canadian Government in tribute to their troops that fell during the operation. There are many memorials and museums dotted along this coast to remind the world of the soldiers that gave their lives for freedom. |
