Musee de Picardie - Cutural Attraction |
48 rue de la Republique. The museum is housed in a building that was constructed between 1855 and 1867, and is divided into three sections, one of which is devoted to archaeology.
The museum has exhibitions on the Roman occupation of Gaul; the Merovingian era; ancient Greece; and Egypt. There is also a collection documenting the Middle Ages with ivories; enamels; objets d'art; and sculpture. The sculpture and painting collection follows the European schools from the 16th to the 20th centuries
The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10h00 - 12h30 and 14h00 - 18h00. Admission is $3.70 for adults; $2.10 for children and students; and children under 15 are free. |

Cathedrale Notre Dame d'Amiens - Cutural Attraction |
| Place Notre-Dame. This is the largest cathedral in France, with a length of 141m. The cathedral was built between 1220 and 1270, two unequal towers were added, the south tower in 1366 and the north tower in 1402. The portals of the west front are decorated with important examples of Gothic cathedral sculpture, and the two galleries above the portal contain 22 statues of kings. The cathedral is open from Easter to Octaber everyday 08h30 - 18h45; and November to March everyday 08h30 - 12h00 and 14h00 - 17h00. Admission is free, and guided tours are offered at $3.60. |

| Pont de la Dodane, Quartier St-Leu. This is the best restaurant in Amiens, and is housed in a 15th century building next to the pont de la Dodane. Master chef Antoine Benoit serves a wide range of Picard and French cuisine, some of his specialities are sea bass with apricots; roast lamb pre-sale from the salt marshes; scallops baked in their shells; and veal kidneys with rosemary sauce. The restaurant is open Monday to Friday 12h00 - 14h00 and Monday to Saturday 19h30 - 21h30. Reservations are recommended. |

The Hortillonnages - Natural Attraction |
| 54 boulevard de Beauville. This park covers 741 acres of what used to be marshes, which are fed by the Somme river. The Romans were the first to drain the marshes and plant produce here. In the 19th century there was still a market on the Quai Parmentier. Today there is still a market every Saturday, which is held on the riverbank of the Place Parmentier. This is a great place to take a break from the city amongst nature. Guided tours of the area are offered from April to October. |

| 36 rue Victor Hugo. This museum is housed in the old Hotel des Tresoreries de France, and is one of the most interesting museums in Amiens. It exhibits an excellent collection of furniture and applied arts from the Louis XV and Louis XVI periods. Another exhibition hall in the museum contains a collection of art from the 17 to 20th centuries. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10h00 - 12h30 and 14h00 - 18h00. | Boulevard du Jardin des Plantes, on the left bank of the main turn of the river Somme. This beautiful garden covers 2,471 acres and houses the city's greenhouses. The garden dates back to 1754, when botanics and chemistry lectures were given here, the greenhouses were built in 1805. The garden has a range of vivacious plants; a collection of irises and annual plants in the flower beds; and floral displays near the main entrance, it also has privet; fuchsias; geraniums; daturas; and dragon-trees. The garden is open everyday April 1st to September 30 from 08h00 - 18h30; and October 1st to March 31st from 09h00 - 17h30. |

Amiens Zoo - Natural Attraction |
Parc de la Hotoie. This is a great place to take the children, and is a great place to learn about wildlife in their natural environment. The zoo is home to over 400 animals from 100 different species, who live in their natural habitats. The zoo is also involved in the preservation of endangered species and takes part in many European breeding programs.
The zoo also has a cafe, where you can relax and have something to eat or drink. It is open everyday April to September from 08h00 - 18h30; and October to March from 09h00 - 17h30. Admission is $4 for adults and $2.90 for children. |

Le Grand Wazoo - Bar or Club |
5 rue Vulfran-Warme. This is the top club for live music in Amiens, and is named after a Frank Zappa album. The club has Arab décor, and attracts a mixed crowd who want to listen to local musicians as well as some of the more famous groups.
Live concerts are usually held on Thursday; Friday; and Saturday. The club is open monday to Saturday from 18h00 - 01h00 but when there is live music, there is a cover charge of around $3. |
