Aussie Farm Entertainment Children will love to be entertained by the Aussie Farm Entertainment Show at Spurwood Springs. Watch as the award winning bush poet and working dog handler amaze and make people of all ages laugh in hysterics. Spurwood Springs is a 320 acre banana plantation and cattle fattening property located in the lush Mena Creek Valley. Visit and touch the many farm animals.
Butterfly Sanctuary The Butterfly Sanctuary is an aviary that is home to over 1,500 magnificent butterflies, all indigenous to the area. The sanctuary has been visited by over a million people since it first opened in 1987. Visitors can elect to take an optional guided tour which is offered daily.
Cairns Tropical Zoo This beautiful tropically landscaped zoo is spread out over six acres featuring natural habitats displaying Australia's most unique animals. The zoo is also home to many international-tropical animals. Children and adults can touch a crocodile, snake or wombat, see a dingo, or can hand feed parrots and rainforest birds.
Cairns Beaches
The Great Barrier Reef - If you are in Cairns, then you must visit the the world's greatest, largest and most complex reef system. The Great Barrier Reef is more than 2,000km long and runs along Queensland's north-east coast. The area is populated with individual coral reefs and hundreds of continental islands, reef islands and cays, small bare sand cays, and permanent vegetated cays. Visitors can enjoy snorkeling, scuba diving or scenic tours by flight in a plane or helicopter. Also not to be missed is the underwater observatory.
Bedarra Island - This private island retreat is located just off the Queensland coast between Townsville and Cairns. Bedarra Island is a stretch of land that is made-up of untouched rainforests and palm-fringed beaches. The clear blue waters of the Coral Sea meet rolling sugar white sand beaches. Bedarra is Australia's most exclusive island and is complete with sixteen villas situates close to the Great Barrier Reef.
